Abhijeet Bhattacharya was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, to Dhirendranath Bhattacharya, a Bengali businessman turned editor, and his wife Kamladevi Bhattacharya.

Abhijeet was the youngest of the family’s four sons. He married Sumati Bhattacharya, a fashion designer, in 1990 and they have two boys.

He sang a lot of Hindi songs. Work from the film Baaghi, composed by Anand–Milind, is among his songs. This film featured the songs Ek Chanchal Shokh Hasina, Chandni Raat Hai, and Har Kasam Se Badi Hai. Following it, other chartbusters from films like Khiladi and Shola Aur Shabnam, both of which were box office successes. After that, he appeared in films like as Yeh Dillagi, Anjaam, Raja Babu, and Main Khiladi Tu Anari in 1994. Controversies

Apart form biography of Abhijeet Bhattacharya let’s talk about controversies about him. “Roads are made for cars and dogs, not for people sleeping on them,” Abhijeet tweeted on May 6, 2017, when a Mumbai sessions court sentenced actor Salman Khan to five years in prison in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case. This sparked outrage among various Twitter users as well as in the popular media for reportedly making insensitive statements and exposing himself to criticism from members of the media and others that Abhijeet was equating homeless people with dogs.

Abhijeet was detained by Mumbai police in July 2016 and later released on bail for reportedly abusing journalist Swati Chaturvedi on Twitter. The arrest came after Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Preeti Sharma Menon filed a complaint with Mumbai’s BKC Cyber Cell. The FIR for the internet harassment was filed on counts of public obscenity and assault of modesty, according to the Indian Express.

On May 23, 2017, Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s Twitter account (@abhijeetsinger) was suspended after he tweeted a series of ‘offensive messages,’ particularly directed at women.

Abhijeet re-joined Twitter on May 29 with a new handle (@singerabhijeet). However, the new account was similarly suspended by the evening.
