Ever since Navjot Singh Sidhu was appointed as the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) Chief, he has taken the Punjab Congress by storm. From Amarinder Singh’s exit to multiple infighting and tussles, Congress has seen it all in last few months. And the only reason behind all this is Sidhu’s dream to become next Chief Minister of Punjab.
The Congress party seemingly has fell into its own pit by retaining Sidhu to oust Capt Amarinder Singh. And, it is quite evident as Sidhu has now become the quintessential ‘fufaji’ of Indian marriages.
Sidhu denies addressing the rally
What came as a moment of embarrassment for Congress party, Navjot Singh refused to speak at a rally. Reportedly, Dalvir Singh Goldy is contesting the election from Dhuri against AAP’s Punjab CM face Bhagwant Mann. Party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Punjab CM Channi and Sidhu reached Dhuri for seeking votes for Balvir Singh Goldy.
Even though he was asked to address the crowd by Goldy’s wife, Sidhu turned down the offer. Navjot attempted to throw a tantrum when he was asked to address the rally by Goldy’s wife, Simran Khangura. He turned down the invitation and gestured with his hands that he does not want to speak. The, he pointed towards Channi, indicating that the latter will address the assembly.
Sidhu fumed as Channi is the next CM candidate
Sidhu is angry at the high brass of the party’s decision to elect Channi as the next Chief Minister candidate. Although he has publicly backed Channi’s candidacy, but he and his family members have expressed their displeasure over the same.

It is quite obvious that the decision has infuriated Sidhu and his camp. The decision was a major setback for Navjot as he has been working around the clock to portray himself as the CM’s face during the election campaign. The comedian turned politician Sidhu was consistently promoting his Punjab model of development to strengthen his candidacy.

Another reason that has angered Sidhu is that he was expecting Rahul Gandhi to announce his name, but all he ended up having is disappointment.
Earlier as reported by TFI, Channi has emerged as the CM candidate for Punjab Congress and Captain Amarinder Singh is the undeclared candidate of the BJP+ alliance.
If we closely analyse the party’s politics in the particular state, both Channi and Amarinder have gained something. It is only Sidhu who has lost the CM fight even before it started. However, given the Sidhu’s rebellious record against his own party, it is safe to say that the party, in any case, is going to be destroyed. His rebellious attitude for all selfish reasons makes it evident that he considers his choices far more important than the party’s requirement.
