Raj Lakshmi Yadav is the daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav, a former chief minister of Bihar in India. She is Lalu’s youngest daughter. Lalu Yadav is the father of nine children, four daughters and five sons. Raj Laxmi’s marriage had made headlines. Former MP from Mainpuri Tej Pratap Singh Yadav is her husband. Tej Pratap is the grandson of Uttar Pradesh’s former chief minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav. The couple married in 2015 and had a child the following year.

Birth

She was born in Patna on July 4 1990. She is the eldest of nine siblings. She is also Lalu’s sole child, born after he was appointed chief minister in 1990.

Education

Raj Lakshmi Yadav studied at the Noida campus of Amity University. She met Tej Pratap Singh for the first time there. Tej left Amity for Leeds University in the United Kingdom, where he completed his Masters before returning to India.

Tej Pratap Singh Yadav is an Indian politician who served in the Indian Lok Sabha from 2014 to 2019 as a member of the Samajwadi Party, representing the Mainpuri seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Tej Pratap Singh, who holds an MBA from Leeds University in the United Kingdom and attended schools such as Colonel Brown Cambridge School in Dehradun and Delhi Public School in Noida, is related to two powerful political families: the Yadavs of Uttar Pradesh through his grandfather, Ratan Singh Yadav, who was Mulayam Singh Yadav’s elder brother, and the Yadavs of Bihar through his marriage to Raj Laxmi, Lalu Prasad Yadav.

At the age of 26, Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha as a member of the Samajwadi Party. He had won a by-election in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri constituency, which had previously been held by his grand-uncle, Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Father of Raj Lakshmi Yadav

Lalu Prasad Yadav is an Indian politician who was born on June 11, 1948 and father of Raj Lakshmi Yadav. He is the president of the political organization Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), as well as a former Chief Minister of Bihar, Union Minister of Railways, and Lok Sabha Member.

He began his political career as a student leader at Patna University, and at the age of 29, he was elected to the Lok Sabha as the Janata Party’s youngest member. In 1990, he was elected Chief Minister of Bihar. In the 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, his party partnered with Nitish Kumar of the JD (U) to win power (U). When Nitish Kumar resigned, the RJD was ejected and became the opposition party.

The RJD remained the single largest party in Bihar in the 2020 Legislative Assembly election, and it now serves as the state’s primary opposition party. Lalu Yadav was convicted in the infamous Fodder Scam and was sentenced to prison until 17 April 2021, until the High Court granted him bail in the corruption case.

Father in Law

Mulayam Singh Yadav is an Indian politician and the founder-patron of the Samajwadi Party. He was born on November 22, 1939. He was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for three non-consecutive terms and also served as the Minister of Defence for the Government of India. He is now a Member of Parliament, representing the Mainpuri seat in the Lok Sabha, and has previously served as a Member of Parliament from the Azamgarh and Sambhal constituencies. Party leaders and workers refer to him as Netaji (meaning “respected leader” in Hindi).
