Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain cool has another gift in his basket for his fans. Apart from Cricket, MS Dhoni is trying his hands at entertainment and is all set to play his ‘helicopter shot’ there too. This times Dhoni will not appear in ads of GoDaddy or Unacademy. Rather, Dhoni has taken a new avatar of ‘Atharva’ in a graphic novel. And the first look has already created a buzz. MS Dhoni can be seen as a warrior leader in an animated avatar in the graphic novel.
Dhoni as Superhero in Atharva
Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni took to Facebook to share his first look from his graphic novel Atharva: The Origin. The first look features Dhoni, in a brand-new animated avatar. MS Dhoni can be seen on a battlefield, fighting with demon-like creatures. He can be seen as a superhero and a warrior.
While sharing the first look on Facebook Dhoni wrote, “Happy to announce my new Avatar Atharva.” This teaser gave a sneak peek of how the world of Atharva is going to be.
Dhoni’s fans were quite surprised as no one expected an animated avatar of captain cool. Indians love larger than life characters and after seeing MS Dhoni as a superhero, fans are not able to keep calm.
Sci-fi series: Atharva
Atharva is a mythological sci-fi that portrays the story of a mysterious Aghori. It is written by Ramesh Thamilmani and is being produced by Vincent Adaikkalaraj and Ashok Manor and backed by Dhoni Entertainment. The graphic novel features around 150 lifelike illustrations.
The mega-budget graphic novel Atharva: The Origin was announced in 2020. At that time Atharva was mentioned as, ‘an adaptation of an unpublished book by a debutant author.’ The project is being headed by MVM Vel Mohan. The series is being presented by Virzu Studios in association with MIDAS Deals. The motion poster of the series garnered a lot of attention and fans are praising the ex-Captain for his acting skills.
Dhoni replaces King Khan
This is not the first time when the teaser has been released where the lead is shown with long hair and six-pack abs. Before Mahi, King Khan i.e. Shah Rukh Khan was approached for the role. Even a similar kind of teaser was released in 2015 showing Khan with long hair and six-pack abs fighting with the demons. For some reason, Khan left and the fans of cricketer are delighted to watch their favourite on screen.
Also, this time Atharva is backed by Dhoni Entertainment, the media company founded by MS and Sakshi Dhoni themselves in 2019.
Dhoni and the world of entertainment
Dhoni has been on and off the TV screens for a while now. He is the brand ambassador of several companies like GoDaddy, Unacademy among others. His biopic also hit the theatres back in 2016 that became a blockbuster. Fans have always loved Mahi on and off the field. This time MS Dhoni fans are even more excited to watch their hero as a superstar fighting with the demons.
This is the first time that Dhoni has taken the plunge himself on the screen and it will be very interesting to watch how the series turns out to be.
