In November last year, the border districts of Pathankot and Gurdaspur were put on high alert. Why? Two motorcycle-borne persons had lobbed a low-intensity hand grenade towards an army camp in Pathankot at midnight. Guess where the grenade came from? I hope you got it- the grenade was made in Pakistan.
But there is something more to the Pathankot army camp attack. The investigation by Punjab Police has revealed that the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) – a pro-Khalistan, proscribed organisation was responsible for the attack.
Khalistan-ISI nexus in Pathankot army camp attack
Punjab Police has reportedly solved the hand grenade attacks including an attack at the Pathankot army camp. It has busted an ISYF terror module with the arrest of its six operatives. The SBS Nagar police also recovered arms and ammunition- six hand grenades, one pistol, one rifle, along with live bullets and magazines, from the arrested operatives.
The ISYF operatives were directly in touch with the banned organisation chief Lakbhir Singh Rode and his close associates- Sukhmeetpal Singh alias Sukh Bhikhariwal and Sukhpreet alias Sukh.

Pakistan pushing terror into Punjab
Director-General of Police (DGP) Punjab VK Bhawra said, “The entire cache of the recovered hand grenades, arms and ammunition were pushed in from across the International border by Lakhbir Rode and arrested accused persons had been tasked for further attacking the pre-identified targets which were mainly police and defence establishments, religious places etc.”
There was no casualty in the blast that had taken place in front of the Triveni gate of the cantonment in Pathankot. But the attack has revealed how Pakistan and ISI are constantly trying to push terrorism and the Khalistani agenda in Punjab. In fact, the banned ISYF itself is supported by Islamabad.

Peddle Khalistani agenda in India and humiliate Sikhs at home- the double games of Pakistan
While the Pathankot terror attack was orchestrated by Pakistan, it was executed by local men from different villages in the Gurdaspur district.
So, you can pretty much guess what Pakistan is up to. It is instigating Sikh extremism in India and is actively supporting the idea of Khalistan. Most of the pro-Khalistan activities that you see online include bizarre ideas like Referendum 2020, which its website describes as “a campaign to liberate Punjab, currently occupied by India” is funded by the ISI.
The referendum was supposed to take place in 2020 but got delayed again and again. Well, because the organisers were scared of the Pandemic. Anyhow, the point that I am trying to assert here is that such a Khalistani agenda is funded and promoted continuously by the ISI and the Pakistani State. And you actually have people falling prey to that agenda and ISI’s attempts to encourage pro-Khalistan activity in India.

But what is Pakistan doing back home? It is tormenting Sikhs, attacking their shrines, converting them at an industrial scale, targeting Sikh women and marrying them forcefully to the men of the majority community. Those playing into Pakistan’s hands are letting the ISI pursue its double game of torturing Sikhs at home and instigating Sikhs in India to wage war against the government under the Khalistani agenda.
