Fer Dekhange: PM Modi. A highway. And armed ‘Jatts’. 5th Jan breach got eerily similar to this hateful video

Punjab, Punjabi, Music video, Fer Dekhange, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi

What happened at a flyover before Ferozepur city on Wednesday, when the Prime Minister’s cavalcade was blocked by ‘protestors’ bore an eerie similarity to a YouTube video published a year ago. The Prime Minister was supposed to address a rally in Ferozepur on Wednesday and dedicate development projects to Punjab worth over 42,000 crore rupees. However, Congress-backed protestors and Khalistani sympathizers had other plans. So, they blocked the road to Ferozepur, endangered the life of Prime Minister Modi and effectuated a major crisis for the country.

In the animated music video called “Fer Dekhange”, singer Simu Dhillon vividly describes how ‘Jatts’ would treat Narendra Modi if they get annoyed with him beyond a point. But the interesting part is not the lyrics. They are the visuals. In the video, PM Modi is shown departing from his residence in a limousine. However, after travelling some distance, the Prime Minister – who is wearing a saffron overcoat – faces a road blockade by the ‘jatts’ who are atop their tractors, and are armed with thick sticks.

The Prime Minister’s cavalcade stops, and his security personnel flee the scene. They are shown running away from the spot, even though that would never happen in reality. The Prime Minister’s security troopers never run from a fight. However, reality is not what the song and its visual artists concerned themselves with.

Next to run away is PM Modi. He is shown being chased by the ‘jatts’ – all of whom, for some strange reason, are clean-shaven. Perhaps they are all closet Christian converts. But that is an artistic analysis we do not wish to get into right now.

A running Modi is stopped by at least two tractors. The Prime Minister is caught. He is shown as surrounded by the protesting mob who proudly brandish their sticks. What happens to a lone Modi surrounded by a mob of bloodthirsty protestors is anybody’s guess to take.

The lyrics, meanwhile, cannot be ignored either. “Masla Punjab Da Pani Da Chandigarh Da, Pa Gaya Shaheedi Sant Hakka De Layi (The issues of Punjab are those of water and Chandigarh’s status as UT. ‘Sant’ (Bhindarawala) attained martyrdom for them)”.

The song also threatens the Prime Minister, saying if the protestors pick up rifles, it would then be seen how the Centre ignores the demands of the protestors.

Now, what happened on January 5 was quite similar. PM Modi’s cavalcade was blocked. Protestors were angry. Punjab Police was complicit and the Congress government of the state emboldened them by not acting against them. The Congress seems to have masterminded the entire security lapse.

The video suggests that the security lapse of Wednesday was no coincidence and did not occur out of the blue. Instead, it was well-planned and an attempted assassination.
