We have entered a new era of cricket. The era, in which spouses make a spectacle of their respective partner’s careers. Instead of prioritizing the Indian Cricket team, they are occupied pouring in their emotions for each other. On Saturday, Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test Captain. Deeply saddened by his decision, his wife Anushka Sharma took to social media to post a heartfelt letter glorifying Virat’s cricket journey and praising him for ‘immense growth’ during the captaincy period.
Though it is quite evident that the letter intended to portray Virat as the best ever captain as well as an impeccable human being, Anushka has failed to do so. And, the actress, thus, needs to focus on her career as her upcoming movie is declared a flop even before its release.
Anushka’s ‘heartfelt’ letter to Virat
Virat Kohli, on Saturday, broke the news of stepping down as India’s Test Captain on social media. He wrote, “Everything has to come to a halt at some stage and for me as Test captain of India, it’s now.”
“It’s been 7 years of hard work, toil and relentless perseverance every day to take the team in the right direction. I’ve done the job with absolute honesty and left nothing out there. Everything has to come to a halt at some stage and for me as Test Captain of India, it’s now,” Kohli wrote in his Twitter post.

Soon after his announcement, the floodgates of conjecture as well as criticism were opened. Anushka, too, penned an ‘Aww’ letter to celebrate Kohli’s career as Captain.

To recall how his journey began in 2014, Anushka took to her Instagram handle to write, “I remember the day in 2014 when you told me that you have been made the captain as MS had decided to retire from test cricket.”
Putting an end to the note, she further wrote “Our daughter will see the learning of these 7 years in the father that you are to her. You did good.”
Anushka seemingly forgot that the immense popularity gained by the cricketer is attributed to the cricket fans and the sport itself. Thus, more than personal, the interest should be in consideration with the Team India.
Anushka slammed for the lack of decency
Anushka’s efforts to ‘celebrate’ Kohli’s cricket journey, however, did not go well with the netizens.
A Journalist named Rohan Dua slammed Anushka for creating a ‘spectacle’. He tweeted, “Quite don’t understand that captaincy or leaving it merits such back to back purgation of emotions by a couple when only interest paramount be that of Team India. Never before spouses of greats Sehwag, Ganguly,Sachin,VVS, Gambhir,Dhoni made spectacle of their careers.”

He further tweeted, “Such was the decency & resolve to stay away from glory & opulence of cricket that only recognisable appearance Tendulkar’s wife Anjali made was during his last match! Not a word before/after. Kumble & Srinath had their moms jump out in joy during 1996 Titan Cup, with innocence.”

Anushka! Keep yourself focused on acting only
Four years since Anushka was last seen acting in ‘Zero’, the actress has been accompanying her husband in almost every cricket tour along with her newly born daughter ‘Vamika’.

The actress is making a comeback with her upcoming film Chakda Xpress. And, the film has been declared a flop even before its release. The fake tan look and nauseatingly fake Bengali accent could lead the movie to a box office disaster. Additionally, instead of Anushka playing the role of the protagonist, the casting director could have given the role to an actress who comes from a Bengali background, as she would have been able to do justice to the character and understand all the basic nuances.
We understand that it is showbiz. However, the on-screen persona is justified only if it has a certain resemblance to reality. Anushka Sharma is nowhere close to Jhulan Goswami’s persona, and that’s what is bete noire about Chakda express.
Virat Kohli WAS good player and Anushka WAS aspiring actress once up on a time but ever since they got married, he hardly have shown any interest on the game and rather he was hyper active WOKE activist on social media giving Gyan to public on how to celebrate centuries old festivals and working on Advertisements promoting commercial products, bending knee for 20 thousands miles away far land causes where 99 percent of the public doesn’t even know how Cricket is played and the list of his self promotions and money making deals keeps going full swing while both wife, husband pair totally lost interest in their respective professions.
Once a person ignores their core professional work and occupies themselves on everything else, then public will show them their right place and don’t respect them anymore.
Hey, Tanya Fucking Trivedi, how about yourself being successful yourself first? So easy to comment on someone who has made a name and have a standard of living unlike you, no?
Sheetal, wow, rude much? I get you’re avirat fan. But so much nastiness?
@Sheetal or whatever the your real name is, you can definitely express your opinion in a civilized manner but we oppose using indecent language here. Please be mindful of your words.
When Virat used his social media to express his WOKE opinions to public on how to celebrate their traditions and how to live environmental friendly did you ask Virat to not comment on people’s lives? How do you know if the writer of this article Tanya is not successful? Do you have a meter to measure success of a person and are you a professional to certify?
According to you just because Virat was successful once up on a time in his profession does it give him rights to comment on the way of life of public?
Virat felt that he’s entitled and elite to comment on public affairs and their lives but when his daughters pictures are published by paparazzi, he’s demanding that people should refrain from watching the pictures and that the matter is private and doesn’t it sounds like a height of the hypocrisy of the so called elite?
Virat and Anushka started their woke propaganda to mess up with people’s traditions and practices but when people starts commenting on the couple, suddenly their life is a private matter and they can’t handle the heat. What kind of psychopath mindset is this? One set of rules for elite people and anther set of rules for normal public?
Tanya is jealous that she didn’t had a good spouse like she had
Her Instagram her Twitter her hand her finger her husband her thoughts her everything…. Who the hell are you !!???
Just do journalism don’t do any Randy Rona here ….
You will get successful and imagine your husband praises you and still will you do journalism like this???
Such an idiotic person you are !! God bless your work and your journalism …. Hope you get some shame reading this …if not then you are not a human ….. You were not worth getting my time typing all these …!!
Just Shut up yaar Tanya, who do you think you are? And who the hell is this so called journalist. A wife is supporting her Husband and proud of her husband what is wrong in that? Do not write your stories just to become famous and get attention. Have some decency for yourself also.
Virat Kohli Steps down.He had the strongest team in the world and we won matches even after his terrible captaincy. He should focus on his batting and try to become a team man.Great Captain, sadly spoilt by Ravi Shastri to believe he was bigger than the institution. No doubt he is a legend of the game but he brought this on this on himself, his arrogance and cricket politics brought to his downfall
Game will go on and he is the poor loser. What you did to Anil Kumble is what is happening with you. You reap what you sow.Anushka Bollywoods Accossiation ruined Kohli’s career.Good decision. His present form is nowhere close to his peak if he doesn’t focus on his batting and rediscover his form there will be questions on the continuity of Virat the batsman also. we wish him a long journey ahead as an accomplished batsman.Ok he can now lead the diwali gyan campaign.
Nice write up Tanya…keep it up. Cheers
Nice work Tanya.
A couple of articles were completely written against Kohli and now his personal life, wife. Well, it doesn’t help TFI at all. Both Anushka and Kohli are self-made, coming from simple and small backgrounds. Realise it first of all. You cannot take away any credit for their achievements as individuals, professionals and people. And neither, you can criticise and change public perception of them. In social media, there will always be people who like your views or dislike them. If Anushka has written something for Kohli, don’t appreciate it, even if you liked it. Similarly, if she has written something on her own for fans, other wives of crickets who sacrifice a good decade of their personal life for their husbands to keep travelling at peak of their youth, it’s simply not a joke.
If some women are reserved let them be. If some are more vocal or expressive what is your problem?
And WOW! You start with her letter for Kohli which is in line with the title of this news article. But you end with a review on her unreleased movie and even declared it a flop without its release. Well, do you have enemies in the entire team that worked on her movie? Please have mercy on them at least. There are a whole lot of people who work in a movie, backstage artists, technicians, lights man and countless small people. Let’s not curse them all in these difficult times. Many of them are not paid until the movie does well after release.
so TT, please take a break. Let’s not start this anti-Kohli campaign, this is another form of Wokeism from you. He is a great cricketer with a successful self-made wife and they are young too, still learning. Start writing articles on subjects with which you have better command.
So public should not comment on personal matters of Virat and his wife but Virat has all the rights to give advices, pass on opinions, do activism about centuries old traditions, customs, practices of public openly on public? Well if he feels entitled to do activism, so do this journalist, public including myself. As long as celebrities don’t mess up with publics order life then no one bothered but this couple started it and now it’s up to the public to mess up with theirs. Once anything entered the social media network then that’s not private anymore and they must be ready to face the public opinion and now no taking it back.
By the way this couple surely sucks in their present professional status in the current form. Let them focus on their work and life instead of giving advices on how I celebrate my traditions and how I live my life environmentally.
@Sini I have covered your point in another post. Certainly, you are correct. It’s not good on their behalf and most importantly they have been SELECTIVE to choose Hindu festivals.
