Dr Mehul Shah is an experienced intensivist or a critical care physician based in Mumbai who has been in the industry since 2003. He came to the limelight during the first wave of Covid-19 in India in 2020. Dr Mehul Shah is an active member of the National Board of Intensive Care and Society of Critical Care as well.

According to a media report he had been working for more than 160 days in a row to treat the Covid patients during the first wave and did not go home for 40 days.
Dr Mehul Shah was one of the important voices during the first hit of the pandemic. At a time when people were unaware of the do’s and don’ts of the viral disease, he happened to be a guide to many.
Intensivists or critical care physicians were overlooked and the public was unaware of the role of intensivists in the industry. Dr Mehul came forward and spoke on behalf of them.

Education and Career of Dr Mehul Shah
He pursued his MBBS from Padmashree Dr D Y Patil Medical College in Navi Mumbai and became a doctor in 1997. Then he did his Doctor of Medicine in Anesthesia(2002-2006) from Lok maniya tilak hospital, University of Mumbai. He was a postDoctoral fellow in Bombay Hospital from 2009 to 2011. He went to Australia as an advanced trainee at Westmead Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
Dr Shah is now a renowned face in the media and he is being quoted as an expert on COVID related issues.
