Recently, Swara Bhaskar complained to Mamata Banerjee that she along with a few others have been rendered jobless during the Modi government. Her inference may not be true for everyone, but for Swara herself, it is a sad truth. Media coverage of her political activism tends to overshadow the fact that she is bearing the pain of a forgettable career.
Read-only corrupt subjects like English Literature and Sociology
Officially born in 1988, Swara does not offer the vibe of being a movie actress. Born to a Navy Officer father and a cinematic studies professor mother, Swara was above average in academics. After studying at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, she enrolled herself in Miranda House to study English Literature. Later she went on to pursue another post-modern infiltrated subject called sociology for her master’s degree course in JNU.
Shifted to Mumbai for her film career
In 2008, she shifted to movies to fulfil her dreams of being an actress. She first appeared as a supporting actress in the 2009 drama Madholal Keep Walking, a commercial failure. Despite having a big failure behind her, Swara was able to grab another supporting role in Hrithik Roshan starred Guzaarish. After three years of going unnoticed in Maya Nagri, Swara got her first headline in 2011.
In 2011, Swara’s role as a friend of Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu was much appreciated by the audience. In 2013, she went on to play the role of Bindiya in the movie Raanjhana. In 2015, she reappeared as Kangana’s friend in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Her love affair with side roles continued in movies like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Veere Di Wedding.
Swara tried her hands at every possible trend
Tired of continuous side roles in the big-budget movies, Swara tried her hands in various low-budget films like Nil Battey Sannata, Anaarkali of Aarah, Chillar Party, Machhli Jal Ki Rani Hai along, with many others. Unfortunately for Swara, her career could never gather pace and big-budget directors and movies continued to refrain from her. She then shifted to OTT platforms and acted as a lead in a movie called Rasbhari.
Appeasing liberals and pro-Pakistan lobby
Watching her career fade in front of her eye, Swara tried her best to cater to the liberal and pro-Pakistani lobby of Bollywood. In 2015, she went on to claim that Pakistan is not an enemy state of India and she got more love than her own country in Pakistan.
Being a Navy officer’s daughter and because of her love for Pakistan, Swara became a perfect spokesperson for Bollywood celebrities looking to hide their pro-Pakistani agendas from the Indian public. Later on, she was involved in various political controversies, all of which were related to her liberal brethren.
In January 2018, she made fun of Indian Rani Padmavati committing Johar to save her dignity from Islamists. According to Swara, Johar was an act that signified that a woman’s final identity is based on her sexual organs. Wonder why she did not state the Islamist’s hell-bent on harming the dignity of the Rani.

- After the Modi government passed the CAA act, Swara was one of the most vocal proponents of leftists’ claim that the act was against the Muslims of India. Later she was factually demolished by Rubiqa Liyakat for the same.
- Confirming her political alignment, Swara went to gather support for Marxist Kanhaiya Kumar in the 2019 General elections. It turned out to be another disaster for her reputation as Kanhaiya lost badly in the elections.
After failing in appeasing left-wingers, Swara tried to persuade the right-wingers by posting a picture where she was seen following the Sanatani tradition of doing Pooja. Instead of pleasing Right-wingers, she ended up harming her own loyal Islamist fan base.
