Now the Sant Samaj has taken it upon themselves to free Temples from Government control

The ancient Hindu temples in several states have been in a perpetual state of despair owing to the neglect of the successive state governments in granting the control back to the temples. However, after the Modi Government stepped in with moves to free temples from the clutches of State Government, a slight but positive change had been witnessed. Now, in a move to rid maximum number of Hindu temples in India, Sant Samaj has now taken the responsibility on itself.

Sant Samaj protest in Delhi:

Reportedly, the Sant Samaj has stepped in with the decision to protest against the Government to free temples. They gathered at the Kalkaji temple in South Delhi and began the Math-temple liberation movement. Moreover, they have warned the Government to protest violently if their demands are not met.

Well, the protest is assumed to be done on a large scale as it is associated with religious grounds. It is pertinent to note that the protest has been organized by Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti whose President is Mahant Surendra Nath Avdhoot. Interestingly, Mahant Surendra also holds the position of interim President in Yogi Adityanath led Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh.

Few of the sages claimed that the protest will be successful as they have the blessings of a ‘Yogi’. While talking about the movement, another saint said, ‘ Ram temple was built when the theist government came to power. But our movement will not last as long as the movement for the Ram temple did because the power is ‘not in the hands of atheists’.

Temples must be freed from government control:

Hindu temples have for long borne the brunt of various governments administrating them in a rather shameless manner, very often to extort their coffers to fund the state and its various schemes. That the money belonging to temples often gets split up among the administrators is something that does not need to be explicitly described.

Essentially, Hindu temples are being misused and must be freed from government control as many Hindus want this control to end.

Earlier this year, the BJP government of Uttarakhand, led by newly appointed chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat had decided to free 51 Hindu temples from government control. The decision came after major shrines protested the state-takeover and met the chief minister.

In addition to that, the Madras High Court had also issued a set of 75 directions to the Tamil Nadu government for the maintenance and protection of historical monuments and ancient temples. The court had remarked that the Temple funds shall be first utilized for the maintenance of the temples and other activities and the surplus should be used to repair others that have been ruined due to the negligence of the state government.

Despite the government’s efforts to free temples to prevent any misuse, few state governments have been maligning the piousness and hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. The temples have been misused for a long time now and it is high time they get rid of the state governments’ control. Thus, the Sant Samaj has taken it upon themselves to free temples. A new era for Hindu temples is now guaranteed.

This is what our honourable PM was waiting for. If Hindus thought that Modiji will free temples from govt control on his own then Hindus are mistaken. You need to gain by your struggle, don’t expect spoonfeeding by Modiji because what you gain by that is not long lasting. Secondly, if Modiji frees temples from govt control then he would need to find an alternative management or trust to govern temples. Modiji does not have the time to put together a committee to administer temples.
