Manish Tewari blames Congress for 26/11 in his book

Congress, which was already under the bus for choosing an anti-national like Navjot Singh Sidhu over former army man Captain Amarinder Singh is now hit by another pro-Pakistani allegation from its own ranks. Manish Tewari, the senior party leader, has now openly blamed Congress for allowing the 26/11 massacre by Pakistanis to take place.

In his new book, ’10 Flash Points; 20 Years-National Security Situations that Impacted India’, Tewari has come out all guns blazing against the Manmohan Singh government for its lackadaisical approach in the wake of the 26/11 attack. He lashed out at the UPA’s weak reaction to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and said that it was not kinetic enough to push Pakistan on its back foot.

According to Manish Tewari, the feeble action against Pakistan was considered a symbol of weakness by the Pakistanis. In his book, he wrote, “For a state that has no compunctions in brutally slaughtering hundreds of innocent people, restraint is not a sign of strength; it is perceived as a symbol of weakness,”

Tewari also seems to agree on the fact that Gandhian non-violence does not always work and there is a time when the offence is the best defence. Elaborating his rationale behind his disagreement with the Manmohan government’s feeble response, Manish Tewari wrote, “There comes a time when actions must speak louder than words. 26/11 was one such time when it just should have been done. It, therefore, is my considered opinion India should have actioned a kinetic response in the days following India’s 9/11.”

Defence experts support Tewari

The excerpts from Manish Tewari’s book have invited mixed criticism from different sections of India’s public spectrum. Various defence experts have supported Tewari’s stand against his own Congress government. In a statement to ANI, retired Major General PK Sehgal said that the Indian Air Force was ready for an all-out offence against Pakistan, but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh denied them any opportunity of serving the nation. He also pointed out that the aftermath of 26/11 should have been India’s first shot at the surgical strike because the whole world was with India at the juncture of time.

Defence expert Dhruv Katoch also castigated the Congress government for its inaction in the wake of the 26/11 attack, while he also went on to provide the rationale for the surgical strike by PM Modi. According to him, only when Pakistan did not refrain from its irrational terrorism from crossing the border, PM Modi was compelled to launch a surgical strike.

Congress is angry but BJP comes out in support of former Congress minister

As usual, there has been a mixed response from the political spectrum. While the nationalistic BJP has supported Manish Tewari’s stand on the issue, his own party and serial Muslim appeaser Congress has criticized him for his remarks.

Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, the Congress leader in Lok Sabha said, “He should be focusing more on China that has captured many of our areas in Ladakh and built villages in Arunachal Pradesh. He is regaining consciousness now. Why has he not talked about it that time.”

BJP’s Amit Malviya welcomed Tewari’s remarks on the issue. In his tweet, he cited Air Chief Marshal, Fali Homi Major’s detailed view on the preparation of the Airforce for a war against Pakistan as a vindication for Tewari’s remarks.

Congress party’s Islamic vote bank adds to terrorist plots inside India

Congress party has been under the soup for its alleged covert support to the Pakistan based terrorists. Before 26/11, various other encounters of terrorists like Ishrat Jahan and Batla House encounters were politicised by the party to appease the Muslim population.  The party did not take any effort to strengthen the internal security set-up, rather it weakened India’s security by jailing honest servicemen like Colonel Purohit for not catering to their appeasing agendas.

During the ghast terror attack, 166 people were killed including ATS chief Hemant Karkare. Rather than taking action against Pakistan, Digvijay Singh, senior Congress leader had in fact launched a book in which it was claimed that 26/11 was an insider act by RSS.

There was a time when people from different ideologies agreed on the existence of the problem but differed on the solution. But now, the Congress party does not even acknowledge that Islamic terrorism is the final by-product of Muslim appeasement in the country. However, citizens of the country are still hoping that things could change for the party.
