Gangster Fukran gets his own bail cancelled and begs to be admitted in jail after CM Yogi’s Kairana visit

Fukran, CM Yogi Adityanath, UP, Police

CM Yogi’s policy of handling the mafias and criminals in the state has started to provide some unprecedented and unexpected results. A dreaded gangster from Kairana, Shamli has chosen police lock-up over his freedom to mark himself safe from the UP Police.

Fukran- The fear of Kairana surrenders

Fukran, who has been infamous for challenging the Yogi Adityanath government through his murders and loots has surrendered before UP police. The move is significant as his surrender will override his bail on which he was enjoying the fresh air. It is pertinent to note that the evil gangster decided to surrender just a day after CM Yogi Adityanath issued a strict warning to the criminals of Kairana and the whole of UP on his visit.

Known as Kairana’s fear, a total of more than one and half dozen cases are registered against Fukran’s name. He first burst onto the major scene in 2014, when he killed Vinod Singhal, the treasurer of the trade body in the Begampur area of the city. Within 10 days of killing Vinod Singhal, his Gang killed two brothers for not responding to their extortionist tactics. The Police had arrested Fukran in 2017 after a violent clash. Later he was released on bail and had been roaming free in the state.

The Fear of Yogi overrides ‘Fear of Kairana’

Fukran’s surrender came a day after, CM Yogi Aditya Nath issued an ultimatum during his Kairana visit to criminals active in the state. On his visit, Mr Yogi met various Hindu families who had returned to their native homes after being forced to migrate due to threats by Islamist gang members in the region. Giving a clear surrender or die message to criminals, Yogi had said,“ Whether Muzaffarnagar riots or the Kairana exodus, it is not a political issue for us, but that of a blot on the country and state… The criminals who once forced the locals to migrate have now themselves migrated… Anyone who has dared attack shot a local here has faced a bullet transporting him to the other world”

As of July 2021, a total of 139 criminals have been killed and 3,196 injured in encounters with the Uttar Pradesh Police since 2017, while the force has lost 13 of its personnel in such incidents.

Fukran is not the first criminal who surrendered to UP Police. The list is long which includes Mukhtar Ansari, the independent MLA as well. Earlier various SP and BSP governments had used criminals for getting votes. They used to be lenient towards criminals of their own caste or who favoured their parties.

However, the Yogi government has changed all that, and now no matter whether a criminal is Brahmin, Dalit, Muslim or belongs to some other identity group, they are at the risk of losing their lives if they go haywire. Fukran’s surrender should be seen as an example of a terrified criminal fearing his life.
