The American entertainment industry was well past its glorious prime even before Joe Biden came to power as the President of the United States of America. However, ever since Biden took over, Hollywood and the rest of the American industry has simply turned woke. With ideas like ‘diversity’ requirements in film-making and quota-based art, American art is already staring into a steep decline and now it has come up with an extremely bizarre idea – a bisexual Superman.
DC Comics announces a bisexual Superman
DC Comics, the famous American comic book publisher which owns the fictional superhero character Superman, has announced that its new Superman will be bisexual in the upcoming issue.
Meanwhile, the woke community is celebrating the introduction of a bisexual Superman as some sort of an achievement. NYT reported, “The new Superman, Jonathan Kent — who is the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane — will soon begin a romantic relationship with a male friend, DC Comics announced Monday.”

It added, “The coming out of Superman, perhaps the most archetypal American superhero, is a notable moment even in an age when many comics have embraced diversity and are exploring pressing social issues. Batman’s sidekick, Robin, recently acknowledged romantic feelings for a male friend (not Dick Grayson — who was Batman’s partner for over four decades — but Tim Drake, a later replacement; there are multiple Robins just as there are multiple Supermen). And a new Aquaman comic stars a gay Black man who is positioned to become the title hero.”
Tom Taylor, an Australian comics book writer said, “”I’ve always said everyone needs heroes and everyone deserves to see themselves in their heroes and I’m very grateful DC and Warner Bros. share this idea.” He added, “Superman’s symbol has always stood for hope, for truth and for justice. Today, that symbol represents something more. Today, more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics.”
Actors slam the move to turn Superman into a bisexual character
The problem with wokeism is that it wants to turn everything into a political agenda. Why can’t it simply accept everyone in its original identity and why does it have to fudge everything to suit its propaganda?
British actor and TV presenter Christopher Biggins, who is gay, too has criticised the move of a bisexual Superman. Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Biggins made it amply clear that he wasn’t in support of turning Superman into a bisexual man. In fact, he feels that representation for the LGBTQ+ community should come from a new, original character.
The British actor added, “If you want to do something like this, do something original, don’t take characters that already exist and make them into something they’re not.”
He explained, “I think it’s important that we continue to do that and not pander to the woke system.”
Bisexual Superman is not a bold move
The American woke culture is celebrating a bisexual Superman as some sort of a bold move or a trend-setter. Well, let us make it very clear – changing the fundamental character of a world famous character isn’t really a bold move.
In fact, even Dean Cain, who starred in the ABC series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” for four years from 1993 to 1997 has slammed DC Comics. Sharing his thoughts at “Fox & Friends First”, Cain made it clear that he doesn’t believe that a bisexual Superman is a bold or groundbreaking move.
Cain said, “I don’t think it’s bold or brave or some crazy new direction. If they had done this 20 years ago, perhaps that would be bold or brave.” He added, “But brave would be having him fight for the rights of gay people in Iran where they’ll throw you off a building for the offense of being gay.”
The woke community is hell-bent on changing everything. In a quest to establish new norms, they are looking to align everything with the new norms. However, insistence on changing everything and aligning it with what you like is the worst form of illiberalism in itself. Superman has been a heterosexual comic character for ages and to make a sudden manipulation to turn it into a homosexual character represents exactly what goes wrong with the woke community.
