On February 21, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan welcomed their second child. There has been an immense curiosity among fans to get a full view picture of the baby, and to know his name, keeping in mind the controversy the name of their first child had created.
In July, Kareena Kapoor’s father, Randhir Kapoor told a media outlet, that the newborn has been named ‘Jeh’ by his parents.
After Kareena Kapoor Khan released her book ‘Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Pregnancy Bible: the ultimate manual for moms-to-be’, it has been reported that she has revealed never before seen pictures of her second baby and also his full name. Jeh reportedly is just a pet name of the new addition to the family; Taimur Ali Khan’s younger brother’s actual name is Jehangir Ali Khan.

Both Kareena and Saif have been secretive and reluctant about revealing the name of their second child, as earlier the couple and the baby was subjected to face intense trolling and hate for the choice of name, Taimur. Online haters stormed social media questioning the couple regarding naming their son after a ‘Turkish invader’. The couple, however, didn’t back down and stood their ground stating that they have a right to name their child whatever they want.

Saif Ali Khan, being a self-proclaimed “history buff”, makes it all the more difficult for us to give him the benefit of doubt on the fact that he named his son ‘Taimur’, resonating with the memory of the dreaded Timur-e-Lang, one of the most dreaded personalities in human history.

The name of their second child takes us back to 16 June 1606, when the Mughal Emperor Jahangir ordered Guru Arjan Devi Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru to be tortured and sentenced him to death after the Guru had refused to stop preaching his message of God, as stated by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Guru was made to sit on a burning hot sheet while boiling sand was poured over his body. After enduring five days of unrelenting torture, Guru Arjan Dev Ji was taken for a bath in the river. Thousands witnessed as he entered the river, never to be seen again.

The celebrity couple is back with another controversial name and this time they decided to name their child after a tyrant. Seems like, they are trying to establish another Mughal dynasty in India. To the majority of the Indians, a barbarian, a destroyer of humanity, an orchestrator of religious massacres cannot be a hero. Saif, claiming himself as a ‘history buff’ and naming his sons after mass murderers only appear to be a deliberate attempt to glorify the butcher.
