It was always feared that the rise of an ‘anti-Hindu party’ like DMK to the power corridors of Tamil Nadu will mean destruction and desecration of the Hindu faith. Barely two months after MK Stalin’s coronation as the state CM, the purge process to remove Hindu temples and identity has started. Reportedly, under the garb of encroachment clearance drive, the Coimbatore Corporation on Tuesday demolished seven temples built along the eastern bund of Muthannankulam tank at Kumarasamy Nagar at 6 AM.

The Corporation had earlier removed around 2,400 families from the tank bund after demolishing their houses in early 2020 for the rejuvenation and restoration project at the lake. While the government officials landed unannounced, a Hindu organisation named ‘Hindu Munnani’ and its members started protesting against the drive. Reportedly, the Police had to detain about 240 Munnani members so that the demolition drive could continue.
“The total area of the lake is 90 acres and of which, 15 acres had been encroached. We have removed all the encroachments and recovered the land. On Tuesday, we have demolished seven temples that were located at the bund. While six idols were given to the public after they assured to take care of them, we have kept another idol at the corporation office.” an official was quoted as saying by TOI.
C Dhanapal, public relations officer of ‘Hindu Munnani’ said that while the outfit had been demanding the corporation to provide an alternative site to worship the idols, the Corporation unilaterally started demolishing the temples early in the morning at 6 am without intimating anybody.
While temples are being demolished early in the morning to keep the media noise to a minimum — illegal Christian properties, barely 95 kilometres away from Chennai lie in the hands of the Christian mafias and the government appears incessantly lenient on them.
According to local media reports, Hindu Munnani has moved the Supreme Court to reclaim the Vajragiri Hill captured by the Church mafia in the Acharapakkam area of Chengalpattu.
The Vajragiri Hill houses a 1500-year-old ancient Shiva Temple. However, the said structure has been illegally occupied by Christian missionaries who prevent Hindus from gaining access to the temple. The Evangelists have claimed the 60-acre property under forest land and the DMK government continues to look the other way.
Reported extensively by TFI, DMK has been infamous for its anti-Hindu and anti-Brahmin bigotry in the garb of Dravidian ideology. This anti-Hindu stance is amply clear from the statements of late DMK President M. Karunanidhi who said, “Lord Rama is a drunkard“. The late president has also remarked that the term ‘Hindu’ means ‘thief’. He stated, “Who is a Hindu? You must ask Periyar EVR. A good man would say the word Hindu means a thief.”

Continuing his legacy, the present party president and current CM MK Stalin has further strengthened the party’s anti-Hindu stance. In a public gathering in 2019, he openly stated to uproot Sanatana Dharma.
From being involved in cutting the sacred thread (poonool) of brahmins to not participating in any Hindu rituals in public, such as, Ganesh chaturthi or Saraswathi Pooja; DMK has left no stone unturned in an effort to go against Hinduism.
Known for its ultra-secular credentials, DMK and its patriarch leader Stalin would not dare go against the Church and Islamic institutions as it would mean losing out on the precious vote banks. However, the divided and blind Hindus, who continue to vote for the likes of DMK remain the easy targets. And once again Stalin has shown, how little he cares about the temples, beliefs or customs of the Sanatan Dharma.
Are Hindus dead in Tamil Nadu? What kind of psychopaths does this kind of demolition? What are courts doing?

Encroachment of lakes by any name is not acceptable, I am a staunch Hindu but support action to demolish such temples !! Same to be done to any other religions constructions also
More than 100 temples demolished do you say all were built in encroachment????Even if it so y r they demolishing without prior intimation???? They can arrange some other place for temples… Alternative should be arranged before demolishing.
Governments should not interfere in Hindu Temples’ affairs the way they do not interfere in Christian & Muslim Religeous / worship places.
