Dr Nirmal Maji of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won in the 2016 West Bengal Assembly elections the Uluberia Uttar Constituency. The AITC and Dr. Maji won the election by outscoring Amiya Kumar of the Indian National Congress (INC) by a margin of 14,182 votes.
Nirmal Maji is the Trinamool MLA of the Uluberia North constituency of Howrah District and by profession a doctor.
