Another day in the vibrant Indian political landscape and another Congress leader caught toeing the line of Pakistan whilst conflating Modi-hatred with India-hatred. Digvijaya Singh, the senior Congress leader on the Clubhouse app was recently found giving words of assurances to the Pakistanis that if the Congress government came to power, it will revoke the abrogation of Article 370.

Amit Malviya, BJP’s National in charge of the Information & Technology department released the audiotape and exposed Digvijaya and his party for their strategic decision making.

“In a Club House chat, Rahul Gandhi’s top aide Digvijaya Singh tells a Pakistani journalist that if Congress comes to power they will reconsider the decision of abrogating Article 370…Really? (sic),” tweeted Malviya.

A Pakistani-origin journalist named Shahzeb Jillani claiming to be a former BBC correspondent in Pakistan, Beirut, Washington and London asked Digvijaya what his government would do on the Kashmir issue if it came to power.

“If and when this government goes and India does get rid of PM Modi, what will be the way forward on Kashmir? I know it is on the margins because of what is going on in India right now. But this is an issue that has existed between the two countries for so long,” asked Sahahzeb.

To which, the Congres leader started serenading Pakistan and espoused what radical Islamists would have loved to hear, “Democracy was not there in Kashmir when they revoked Article 370. Insaniyat (humanity) was not there because they put everyone behind bars. And Kashmiriyat is something that is fundamental to secularism. Because in a Muslim-majority State, there was a Hindu Raja (king).”

Digvijaya didn’t stop here and continued, “Both worked together. In fact, the reservation in Kashmir was given to Kashmiri Pandits in government services. Therefore, revoking Article 370 and reducing the Statehood of J&K is an extremely sad decision. We (Congress party) will certainly have to relook at this issue.”

Safe to say, not everyone was pleased with the statements made by Digvijaya. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, who has lately been after the opposition party leaders on the Central Vista issue, thrashed the Congress leader for his remarks.

“Instead of playing to the gallery across the border Congress must come to terms with abrogation of article 370. Democracy (Jamuhariyat) was only in hands of ruling elite. Insaniyat died when instigators of violence sent their own kids abroad & gave stones to children of common folk,” tweeted Puri.

Journalist and Kashmiri Pandit, Aditya Raj Kaul asked Digvijaya where was his Kashmiriyat when the Kashmiri Pandits were thrown out of their homes by the radical Islamists.“Digvijaya Singh claims ‘Kashmiriyat’ is the ‘fundamentals of secularism’. Where was this Kashmiriyat when ethnic cleansing of Pandits took place in 1990 by Islamists? Where is this Kashmiriyat when innocent KPs – Ajay Pandita and Rakesh Pandita are butchered in South Kashmir?” he asked.

Digvijaya’s remarks on Article 370 and Kashmir re-confirm that this Congress under Sonia and Rahul is a proxy for China and Pakistan in India.

— Abhijit Majumder (@abhijitmajumder) June 12, 2021

Digvijaya Singh is not the first Congress leader to have batted for Pakistan and he certainly wouldn’t be the last. Thus his statements shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. However, what is surprising is that Congress is still considered a secular party by liberals when it is showing the traits of a closeted Islamist party.
