At a time when Uttar Pradesh becomes the first state to cross 5 crore Wuhan coronavirus tests, one shudders to think what would have been the condition of the state had Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi Party been at the helm of India’s most populous state. After Akhilesh Yadav led the way in spreading vaccine hesitancy by dubbing Covid-19 vaccines as “BJP vaccines”, his MP, ST Hassan has went a step further and claimed that the country is facing a second wave of the virus and multiple cyclones because the BJP government intervened in Shariah.
Hassan who is an MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad followed the footsteps of his leader, Akhilesh Yadav in making absurd statements against the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. Hassan in all his infinite wisdom claimed that the country is facing all the natural calamities solely due to the BJP government’s audacity to interfere in Sharia.
The Member of Parliament claimed that in the seven years of the Modi government, the Centre has only enacted laws that create religious discrimination while claiming that Muslims were targeted through CAA and NRC. Donning his philosopher’s hat, Hassan further added that if the earth does not do justice, then the sky does justice.
The Samajwadi Party leader said, “The BJP government in the last seven years has tampered with the Islamic Sharia law. They have passed the Citizenship Amendment Act, which is against Muslims. We have also witnessed two storms wreaking havoc in a matter of just 10 days. Thousands of people have died due to the coronavirus outbreak.”
The Moradabad MP added, “99 per cent of the country’s people are religious. We all believe that there is someone else who runs the world and does justice in the world. When the sky man does his justice, there is no if or but. You haven’t seen how many corpses have been insulted in the past. The dogs had to eat dead bodies. Dead bodies were shed in the river. Wood was not found to burn dead bodies in the cremation ground.”
This is not the first instance where Hassan has made an absurd statement. In fact, he is known for his genius in the country’s political circles. The genius that Hassan is, was steadfastly against the criminalisation of Triple Talaq, as he claimed that it was just another tactic by the BJP government to show that they can interfere with Shariat.
Earlier this year, displaying his Samajwadi roots, Hassan resorted to trivialising violence against Ram Bhakts as he claimed that the BJP was paying some sell-out Muslims to pelt stones Ram Mandir donation rallies.
Hassan said, “The Ram Mandir issue is settled, but when the BJP workers would come out to collect donations, some sell-out Muslims will attack them with stones. You have seen in Madhya Pradesh what happens after the stone-pelting. Through this conspiracy, they will be sending a dog whistle to Hindus to unite and vote for the saffron party. It is a ploy by them for the upcoming state assembly elections.”
Samajwadi Party is rapidly becoming an irrelevant force in Indian polity with leaders like Hassan through their umpteen genius, dedicatedly digging the party’s own grave.
How does he explain so many deaths of Muslims in India due to Corona? Were they against Sharia? Why the Muslims of the neighboring countries want to come to India if they believe the Indian government is messing with Sharia? Why doesn’t he question why the Muslims in the neighboring Muslim countries are persecuted? Is it because they are messing with Sharia? If so, why you want such Muslims to come to India?
