The absence of any sort of ideology except that of keeping the BJP out of power, wherever possible and however possible has played a key role in the rapidly singing fortunes of the Indian National Congress. Now, it appears that the Grand Old Party has given up on any remaining self-esteem too as its ally in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, the Left in a cringe statement has claimed that Congress scion Rahul Gandhi is an unmarried trouble maker and the girls should never bend down in front of him.
In a major embarrassment for both the INC and the Left, a former MP has stoked a controversy with his crass statements. Former MP Joyce George while addressing a public gathering in Kerala’s Erattayar said girls should be “careful” of Rahul Gandhi as he was not married.
“Rahul Gandhi’s programme is such that he will only visit women colleges. He will go there and teach girls to bend. My dear children, please don’t bend and stand in front of him…he is not married,” said George, a former independent MP backed by the Left Democratic Front.
George, who won as the CPI(M) supported independent during 2014 Parliament election from Idukki was perhaps referring to Rahul Gandhi’s recent interaction with students of a women’s college in Kochi.
As seen in the video, Gandhi was reportedly giving Aikido lessons at Kochi’s St Teresa’s college, however, it quickly became a subject of ridicule as at a time when his opponents were conducting massive rallies and practicing proper politics, Rahul was inexplicably indulging in such shenanigans which would have made no impact in the INC’s prospects in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections.
What did I just see😭😭😭😭😭

While Rahul Gandhi fumbled his way through political career yet again, the crass statements by George must be unequivocally condemned.
“The vulgarity within him has come out now. What is his merit to criticise Rahul Gandhi? He is trying to follow the footsteps of power minister M M Mani, known for making such derogatory comments,” said Dean Kuriakose, Member of Parliament and Youth Congress leader.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also distanced himself from the comments as he said, “We will oppose him (Rahul Gandhi) politically not personally.”
This incident marks a steep decline in the Indian National Congress as the leader of the party’s ally in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu is making such derogatory statements. Such is the predicament of the Congress, that its ally in Jharkhand, JMM and the Sorens are busy campaigning for Mamata in West Bengal with its allies in Maharashtra, the NCP and Shiv Sena also firmly behind Mamata Banerjee. After suffering from ideological bankruptcy, the party has now given up self esteem too as any small time political can make such objectionable statements against Gandhi and escape with no consequences.
