Caught between a rock and a hard place, Shiv Sena’s desperate attempts to escape from the trap created by the leader of opposition in Maharashtra Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis are downright funny. Instead of pulling up its socks and trying to fix the sorry state of affairs in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena is now alleging collusion between the BJP and a section of Maharashtra officials to destabilise the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
The embattled Shiv Sena on Wednesday claimed that the “key motive” of the BJP is to create instability in Maharashtra by imposing President’s Rule as the party alleged “collusion” between the BJP and some Maharashtra officials with the aim of weakening the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
It is pertinent to note that the then Commissioner of Intelligence Rashmi Shukla has acted as a whistleblower as she blew the lid off the alleged corruption in various police transfers in Maharashtra. On Tuesday, Devendra Fadnavis armed with 6.3 GB data of telephone calls intercepted by Rashmi Shukla met the Union Home Secretary to demand a CBI probe into “corruption” in police transfers in the state.
Sena took to its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, to claim that it had become obvious that the BJP is behind the “conspiracy” to defame Maharashtra “as the opposition party has latched onto IPS officer Param Bir Singh’s letter alleging corruption by State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, and other issues”.
However, the problem with Shiv Sena is that no one reads the Saamana apart from Sanjay Raut and the Thackerays and there are no takers for their claims. They are clearly compromised since the Sachin Vaze issue blew up especially considering the fact that Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and his lackey Sanjay Raut launched an impassionate defence of former Shiv Sainik Vaze until it became impossible to defend him.
Recently, just days after Hemant Nagrale took charge as the new Commissioner of Police from Param Bir Singh, he ordered the transfer of 84 police officers in Mumbai Police, which included 65 officers from the elite Crime Branch. This, however, comes in the backdrop of the NIA conducting the investigation in the Sachin Vaze case and even the timing of the transfer of the police officers further puts the Uddhav Thackeray government in question.
In the list of the transferred police officers, two officers from the CIU of Crime Branch also find a mention. It is pertinent to note that that the CIU was headed by suspended API and former Shiv Sena leader Sachin Vaze. Even the two officers — API Prakash Howal and API Riyazuddin Kazi now demoted by Nagrale, were questioned by the National Investigative Agency (NIA) in connection with the Antilia bomb scare case.
The Shiv Sena is thus, increasingly looking desperate as the events of the last week have been overwhelming and things are escalating quickly threatening the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
Uddhav isn’t ashamed of having been caught on the wrong foot! He is objecting to the cameraman who caught him doing that who belongs to BJP!
Nonsense; had he/she been a Shiv Sena person, would she not have just hung her head in shame!
