Sana Mir was born on 5 January 1986 at Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Sana was born into a military family who hails from Rawalpindi. In Pakistan Army her father, Mir Moatazid, was a colonel. She lived in different cantonments during her father’s service period.
Mir completed her early education from Rawalpindi and then completed her further studies from Gujranwala Cantonment. From Taxila Cantonment she completed her matriculation. Later on her family moved to Karachi where she completed her intermediate and bachelor’s degrees.
Later on after her intermediate she was admitted to the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) for engineering degree but she could not complete her bachelor’s due to her focus on cricket.
