The only truly rich people in Pakistan are the politicians, the army generals and terrorists like Hafiz Saeed and the ilk. The common people in the country have to make do with rising inflation which has rapidly accelerated under Imran Khan’s tenure with less and less disposable income in the hands of a common Pakistani citizen. Such is the situation that being poor in Pakistan is like a divine punishment for the sins committed in the past life. Pakistan PM Imran Khan when quizzed upon by a reporter whether a poor person in Pakistan should commit suicide due to rising inflation, Imran Khan in his characteristic style replied, “What else can be done?”
“What else can be done,” Imran Khan couldn’t have said it any better, as he summed up his tenure in five words which reek of desperation – a hallmark of his puppet Prime Ministership.
When journalist Paras Jahanzaib prodded Khan about the possible solution to the rising inflation in Pakistan and how does he plans to save people who aren’t able to afford two square meals a day, he replied, “We are doing our best to make it easier for the population. What people need to do is to generate wealth for the country’s GDP and fill in the coffers. Because our expenditure is more than the per capita income…”
However, Jahanzaib was in no mood to let Khan off the hook easily as he desperately attempted to shift the goalposts and instead blame the people of Pakistan. Interrupting Khan, she asked, “Jab tak nahi hoti (referring to wealth creation), to kya log khudkhushiyan kare?” to which Khan shocking replied, “Toh kya karin hum?”
( When Jahanzaib asked, “So until we don’t generate that much income, would you let your people commit suicide?”, Khan replied, “What else can be done…”)
Should people then commit suicide? "What else can be done."

This is certainly unbecoming of a head of state as Khan has seemingly no remorse if people commit suicide over rising inflation as all he cares about is saving his seat which is under increasing threat under a united opposition movement to free Pakistan from the Khan-Bajwa nexus.
Ever since the pandemic started, Khan has used it as an excuse to beg for debt relief and waiver for cash-strapped countries like Pakistan. While Khan has managed to secure millions in relief aid from the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, it is unlikely that the aid is being used to help the people of Pakistan in their battle against the Wuhan coronavirus.

Instead, the money is being used to fill the coffers of people like Asim Bajwa who is not only Khan’s advisor but is also heading the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and has seen his family fortune skyrocket in recent times. In fact, Zafar Mirza who was supposed to lead Pakistan’s battle against the pandemic is accused and as charge-sheeted for smuggling 20 million masks out of Pakistan. Due to the smuggling of masks, reportedly, a box of ordinary surgical masks are being sold for more than 4,000 Pakistani rupees.
Imran Khan has reduced Pakistan to a parody country with his sheer incompetence and ineptitude which will see Pakistan further slipping into the Chinese debt-trap and eventually becoming a Chinese client state.
