What good are friends if they cannot lie for each other to save them the shame of whatever shortcomings either of them has? In the case of all-weather friends China and Pakistan, shortcomings, shame and global isolation, form the foundations of their strong and time-tested friendship, which Beijing is indulging in only due to its plans of colonizing the Islamic country. In perhaps an attempt to woo Pakistan and make the country run by brain-dead morons prostrate before the CCP, some Pakistani universities have been ranked among the best in the world by Chinese agencies.
The Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities — which ranks thousands of universities globally, has been awarding Pakistani universities mind-boggling positions for quite some time now. In 2017, the department of mechanical engineering at Quaid-e-Azam University was rated in between 76-100 positions by the agency. Thereafter, every year, the university ‘improved’ its score and in 2020, it has miraculously jumped into the 51-75 range, putting it under McGill University but higher than Oxford University.
Effectively, according to the Chinese agency possibly working at the behest of the CCP, a certain Quaid-e-Azam University of Pakistan has a much better “mechanical engineering” department than that of Oxford University. This would ideally send Pakistanis into a fit of jubilation.
However, a professor from the Quaid-e-Azam (QAM) University has revealed that the said institute does not have a mechanical engineering department! In fact, it does not even offer engineering education of any kind, and none is planned.
Another fraudulent organisation – Times Higher Education had the temerity to declare one Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan as Pakistan’s top university. Incidentally, this is the same university which in 2017 saw the naked parading of a 23-year-old student Mashal Khan for allegedly having indulged in blasphemy. Khan was beaten with sticks and bricks before finally being shot to death. Hundreds of students cheered as he was dragged naked across the campus which has been ranked by Times Higher Education as the best in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s education sector is dilapidated, radicalized, and toxic. There is no longing for science and innovation within the country whose only purpose is to assimilate Indian Kashmir into their territory. To remain relevant globally though, albeit in futile attempts, shoddy ranking agencies and organisations working at the behest of the CCP regularly validate the existence of Pakistani universities. However, for their bubble to be busted requires almost little to no effort, which indicates that even in the realm of scamming, Pakistan has a long way to go.
