Widely believed to be the one who taught current Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan the art of reverse-swinging a ball during bowling, former Pakistani cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz, who along with Imran Khan headed their team’s pace attacks, has dropped a massive bombshell. Sarfraz Nawaz has revealed that during his time with Imran Khan, he had seen the former team captain and current Prime Minister of Pakistan, use a variety of drugs, including marijuana and cocaine. In a video that has come to light, Sarfraz Nawaz, while speaking to an interviewer, reveals that Imran Khan would often consume cannabis at his residence.
Particularly after bad performances on the field, Imran Khan would, out of frustration, take to consuming drugs, Nawaz indicated. Recalling a specific incident, Sarfraz stated that after a match between England and Pakistan in 1987, in which Imran Khan performed disastrously, he had come to Nawaz’s residence at Islamabad. At his residence, the then Pakistan all-rounder consumed charas after a meal. Sarfraz Nawaz added that former players Mohsin Khan, Abdul Qadir and Salim Malik were also present at that time.
That Sarfraz Nawaz could point out a specific instance of him having seen the Pakistani Prime Minister consuming a multiplicity of drugs, in the presence of other players as well, shows that the accusations are very much true. “He (Imran Khan) has been consuming cannabis, he used to do it in London and even at my home. In 1987, when Pakistan faced England in a cricket match and he did not bowl well, he had come to my house and said along with Mohsin Khan, Abdul Qadir, Salim Malik in Islamabad for a meal and also consumed charas. He also snorts something and consumes cocaine as well. In London, he would roll something and snort it,” Nawaz can be heard saying in the video.
In fact, to ensure that nobody questions the veracity of such claims, Sarfraz even said that he is willing to face Imran Khan and look him in the eye with the set of allegations. “Bring him in front of me and let’s see if he denies it. I am not the lone eyewitness, there are many in London,” Sarfraz added.
It is perhaps for this very reason that Imran Khan has, in recognition of his inability to take sound decisions owing to his alleged addiction to drugs, been installed as the Prime Minister of Pakistan by the military establishment which actually runs the terror state. Already, there is a wave of anti-Imran Khan and anti-army protests in Pakistan, and such revelations by Sarfraz Nawaz are about to add fuel to fire.
