The results of Bihar Assembly elections and the by-polls to several key seats across different states of the country are out and once again, it is the tidal wave of Narendra Modi’s popularity that has taken BJP and its allies fortunes to the victory shores. While the victory in Bihar is a huge accomplishment, the clean sweep in the bypolls is by no means a small feat.
Led by ex-Congressman Jyotiraditya Scindia and the ever so reliable Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP has routed the opposition in MP. Out of the 28 seats in the fray, BJP managed to gain an unprecedented 19 seats whereas its rivals Congress party had to be content on 9 seats only. With a staggering vote share percentage of 49.46 per cent, PM Modi’s popularity worked wonders for the state unit.
In a major setback to Telangana’s ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the opposition in BJP wrested away from the Dubbak Assembly seat by a margin of over 1,400 votes. Reported by TFI, the K Chandrashekar Rao led TRS government had used the state police to ensnare M Raghunandan Rao, the BJP candidate in the judicial net by allegedly accusing him of using money to buy votes and raiding his house.
The incidents as they unravelled in Siddipet today are unwarranted, unjustified and unpardonable in any standard.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Modi Magic continued to translate into seats for Yogi Adityanath as BJP won 6 seats out of 7 and dominated the elections with a 36.73 per cent vote share. Samajwadi Party, one of the largest regional parties in the state could only open its account on one seat whereas BSP, AIMIM, Bhim Party, and Congress flirted with Aryabhatta’s grandest achievement i.e Zero.
BJP’ stronghold and PM Modi’s home state Gujarat didn’t disappoint either as the saffron flag unfurled in its full glory in the western state. Of the 8 seats up for grabs in the elections, BJP clean swept all eight and the opposition was once again left to squabble amongst themselves. The vote share for BJP in the state was a whopping 55.06 per cent.
In the Rajarajeshwarinagar and Sira assembly seats of Karnataka, both BJP candidates won by a comfortable margin and ensured that BJP continued to hold its position in the southern state of the country.
BJP continued its triumphant march of victory in the North-East state of Manipur where the party won 4 out of the 5 seats up for grabs. Since PM Modi came to power in 2014, he has been extremely focused on the development of the North-Eastern states. Unlike the previous PMs, Narendra Modi routinely visits the states and has managed to create a niche identity for BJP which was absent earlier.
All in all, it has been the charisma of PM Modi that has catapulted BJP to such resounding victories across the country.
