The love-Jihad murder case of Nikita Tomar has seen a sensational new twist where the accused Tauseef and his alleged close relations with the top brass of the Congress party have come to light. The political connections of Tauseef had earlier helped him slip under the radar of the law and police, which eventually gave him a booster shot of confidence to allegedly undertake a chilling murder in plain daylight whose video went viral yesterday on the social media platforms.
According to a report in Zee News, Nikita’s brother stated that accused Tauseef is the nephew of Congress MLA Aftab Ahmed. Another relative of Nikita has claimed that Tauseef’s grandfather Khurshid Ahmed was an MLA and a minister. Khurshid Ahmed’s son Aftab Ahmed is also an MLA from the Congress party. This family has been in politics for the past 40-50 years, and also close to the top leadership of the Congress party.
On Monday, the prime accused Tauseef, who masqueraded as a Hindu boy named Rahul before the victim during a large period of their acquaintance, accompanied with an associate first tried to allegedly kidnap Nikita, and upon facing resistance, shot her dead in broad daylight.

However, it has been also revealed that Tauseef had been maniacally pursuing Nikita for the better part of the last two years. Reportedly, Tauseef was arrested in 2018 for harassing Nikita for marriage, conversion, and kidnapping.
Nikita’s family had even filed an FIR against Tauseef, however, after talks in the panchayat where Tauseef exploited his political reach of Congress to full effect, the matter was quietly settled and the accused went scot-free.
The relatives of Nikita have claimed that constant pressure was put on the family to settle the case and after the incessant pressure became too much to bear, the family wilted and accepted the decision of Panchayat which became the undoing of Nikita two years later.
Nikita’s life could have been saved if the family had not compromised two years ago. The political hand over Tauseef’s head ensured that a radical Islamic extremist allegedly took the life of a promising young girl who aspired to become a civil servant and had even secured 95 percent in her board exams.
While the talk of Love Jihad and political angle in the case is growing pace, another peculiar angle has been brought to light and that is the district of Mewat which has become a safe haven and a shelter space for the Muslims and the notorious gangs to hide after committing heinous crimes.
A court order of 2018 posted by journalist Swati Goel Sharma shows that even police personnel are hesitant to take any action against the perpetrators in the district fearing danger to life and safety. According to the 2011 census data, Muslims constitute nearly 80 percent of Mewat’s population whereas Hindus are a minority in the district forming 20.37 percent of the total population.

The matter becomes even more significant to address because Nikita’s alleged killers hail from Mewat and it was the panchayat that had earlier allowed Tauseef to walk away without facing any music for his ghoulish acts.

The Congress party which tries extremely hard to hide the horrors of ‘Love-Jihad’ by terming it as a right-wing conspiracy must at least answer the questions of its party leaders’ alleged involvement which allowed Tauseef to kill an innocent girl. Expecting Congress to change its stance on ‘Love-Jihad’ is a pipe-dream but the role of Congress leaders behind Tauseef must be investigated and the party must come clean over the allegations being leveled by the aggrieved party.
Also, it is high time that we as a society try to stand up and have a mature conversation about the menace of Love Jihad which no matter how much the liberals of the counry try to whitewash, is 100 percent a real evil, staring right in our face.

Love Jihad will continue as long as Hindu organizations and Hindus whine but do not take the trouble to compile hard evidence and statistics to support their accusations. The data must include 1. the number of such incidents statewise and year wise, 2. how many of the victims were minors 3. in how many case did the boys assume fake Hindu names to trap the victims, and in how many cases did the parents of the Jihadi collaborate in the act for conversion or condone the criminal. 4 how many revers cases of M girls enticed by Hndu boys occurred and whether the girl was forced to convert. One can think of other matters needed to establish a strong case of Love Jihad. Thus far we read of only isolated events but a coherent picture is needed. The organizations can then demand action by govts. and if needed approach the SC on behalf of the victims parents who should form an association for this purpose.
