In an interesting turn of events, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been accused of procuring drugs for herself, after WhatsApp chats of Jaya Saha revealed her demands, for which the Narcotics Control Bureau has officially summoned her. Owing to her shooting in Goa, Deepika will report to NCB on September 25, instead of September 24 as ordered.
To quote an excerpt from Republic’s report on the same, “In the latest development, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Shruti Modi, Karishma Prakash, and Simone Khambatta, have been summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday in the ongoing Bollywood-drug probe. While Rakul and Simone have been summoned for September 24, Deepika (who is currently in Goa for a shoot) will join the probe on September 25, sources informed Republic TV.” Interestingly, Karishma Prakash, who is associated with the talent search agency KWAN, has been summoned earlier by NCB for interrogation on the drugs case.
But why is Deepika summoned in this case? Following multiple revelations by actress Rhea Chakraborty and her associates, the NCB laid hands on the WhatsApp chats of talent manager Jaya Saha, in which Jaya allegedly conversed with popular Bollywood actresses for procuring banned drugs. Some of the actresses had special codenames, and on further interrogation, Jaya revealed that one of these codenames ‘D’ was that of Deepika, who allegedly requested her for ‘maal’, that is Hash. It is in this context that the NCB has summoned the top actress recently.
Truth be told, Deepika Padukone has been controversy’s favorite child, and the drugs connection is not her first such case either. Deepika was subject to harsh criticism from all corners for her unceremonious visit to Jawaharlal Nehru University in January 2020. Following the ugly fight between leftist students and the non-leftist ones on campus, Deepika had not only attended the protest organized by the unruly leftist students, but also indirectly backed them. However, many had seen through this visit a devious strategy to promote her upcoming film ‘Chhapaak’, which turned to be disastrous as the movie allegedly failed to recover even its original budget domestically, forget hitting the jackpot at the box office.
However, if one researches further, Deepika has been into controversy way back since 2015, when she took part in the controversial video released by Vogue India Magazine online. The movie, purportedly backing feminist aspirations, saw Deepika Padukone promoting “sex outside of marriage” as a “choice” on screen, which was read by many as an endorsement of adultery and for which she was trolled left, right and center. On her business sense with respect to a problem as serious as depression, the lesser we say, the better.
Apart from the above, Deepika Padukone has also been accused of being associated with ISI agents, into which TFIPost had elucidated in a previous report as well. Whether or not Deepika actually was into drugs will be revealed only after a complete investigation by NCB, but there is no doubt about one fact – Deepika Padukone is certainly not the feminist icon what Bollywood and the liberal cabal claims her to be.
