Barely a fortnight after the historic Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan, Baahubhali star Prabhas has announced a movie in collaboration with Om Raut and T-series that is expected to be the most ambitious project to be ever made on the life of Bhagwan Ram.
Titled ‘Adipurush’, the film is expected to hit the theatres in 2022 and is currently in the pre-production stage. The cinematic poster has image of Lord Hanuman and the demon Ravana with a figure of what seems like Bhagwan Ram using the bow and arrow. Prabhas is expected to play the titular role of Shri Ram.
The announcement of the movie has sent the social media circuits abuzz with anticipation as audience has high hopes from the duo of Prabhas and Om Raut.
The Adipurush project will be produced by T-series and Om Raut’s own production house Retrophiles Pvt. Ltd.. Meanwhile Prasad Suthar is associated with the film as a producer who works as a visual effects designer in actor Ajay Devgn’s company NY VFXwaala. And therefore it is being speculated that the VFX of the movie will be the responsibility Ajay Devgn’s company.
In an Instagram post, Prabhas shared his excitement by captioning the poster of the movie “Celebrating the victory of good over evil! #Adipurush @omraut @bhushankumar @vfxwaala @rajeshnair29 @tseriesfilms @retrophiles1 @tseries.official #TSeries”.
Director Om Raut also took to Twitter and shared his excitement about the movie.
“Every role and every character comes with its own challenges but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character of our epic, especially the way Om Raut has designed it. I am sure the youth of our country will shower all their love on our film.” said Prabhas in a statement.
The film is being helmed by Om Raut who had directed Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Tanhaji: The unsung warrior’. Raut’s Tanhaji released in 2019 went onto fare big at the box-office. The movie collected nearly Rs 367.50 Cr worldwide. The movie was loved and highly appreciated by the audience as well as critiques.
Ramayan is one of the most revered tales of Indian history and unlike the left-liberal cabal of Bollywood, one can expect the duo of Prabhas and Om to do justice with the character and the story without instilling any biasness.
