China under the Xi Jinping government is the perfect definition of hypocrisy and irony encapsulated in one. After assaulting, harassing, and humiliating the African community for months in mainland China in the wake of the Wuhan virus pandemic, the sinners (Chinese) have become the saint now.
China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian in a press briefing took potshots at the US and President Donald Trump over the latest developments. He said, “Black lives matter and their human rights need to be guaranteed.”
Lijian added, “Why does the U.S. beautify the so-called Hong Kong independence and violent elements as heroes and fighters while it calls its own people protesting against racial discrimination ‘rioters’?”

He further said, “Why does the U.S. point fingers at the constrained law enforcement by Hong Kong police but turn a blind eye to what happens at home while using shooting and even the National Guard against the protesters?”
In the backdrop of African-American George Floyd’s death, who died after a white police officer held him to the ground and pressed a knee into his neck for more than eight minutes—the subsequent rioting and protests that have engulfed the entirety of United States of America has given China the perfect opportunity to play the good Samaritan and shield the horrors it undertakes on the minorities and blacks in its own country.
Clearly, the Xi Jinping regime was trying to give itself a get-out-of-the-jail free card by comparing the unrest in Hong Kong that has been going on for nearly a year to the protests to end racism in America.
President Donald Trump has threatened to revoke Hong Kong’s preferential treatment after China brought in a controversial National Security bill which has again stroked uneasiness amongst the Hong Konger’s. The Xi Jinping regime has been rattled by Trump’s warning and has been trying to get back at the US. The statement of its foreign ministry on the #BlackLivesMatter campaign is being seen in the same light.
China does not want the nasty tariff sanctions to be imposed on Hong Kong which is the cash-cow/financial hub of Asia.
While its own house is not in order, the Chinese red-regime has the audacity to preach the US on racism. China and its treatment of minorities are well-documented. The inhumane treatment it extends to the Uighur Muslims is a fact known across the globe. What is less know is that the Blacks are treated inferiorly in the communist country too.
While almost everyone is aware of racism in Western nations like the US, UK, and others, almost nobody bats an eye towards xenophobia prevalent in China, particularly against those who do not have a white skin-tone. In fact, China is by far the most racist country in the world. Racism and hatred for the ‘black’ is deeply ingrained in the Chinese psyche.
In Guangzhou’s Yuexiu district which is also known as “Little Africa”, Africans and people suspected to be in contact with ‘African contacts’ were compelled to take tests followed by a mandatory quarantine at their own expense in April. The blacks are also routinely thrown out of their rooms and hotels in China.
The US Consulate in Guangzhou had advised African-Americans to stop traveling to the city in the backdrop of the Chinese Communist Party targeting people of African origin under the pretext of cracking down on the Wuhan coronavirus.
A video of the Consul General of Nigeria berating the Chinese officials had gone viral at the time where he could be seen confronting Chinese officials over harassment of Nigerian nationals in China by the Chinese police.
Brilliant. Consul General of Nigeria in China confronts Chinese officials over harassment of Nigerian nationals in China by the Chinese police amidst #COVID19 pandemic. The Chinese Official laughs it off since it’s a usual practice in China. Bizarre. pic.twitter.com/J9Ky470KNP

The specific targeting of African nationals for their skin color did not go down well with various Governments in Africa, who lambasted China right, left, and centre. Kenya, Guinea, and Nigeria, particularly, stood up to blatant xenophobia being practiced by the Chinese Communist Party.
Moreover, Chinese propaganda outlets are playing up scenes of violence, burning buildings from the protest incessantly on Chinese TV’s to promote the narrative that racism and chaos is a regular phenomenon in the West. Global Times, the mouthpiece of CCP is publishing hit-job articles like these to further astray the Chinese public from the truth.

China is a case study of paradox and while the Blacks continue to be treated unfairly in Xi Jinping’s China, the country shamelessly gives sermons to others.
After all, these antics China is looking to pull every now and then are aimed to divert the world’s attention from the Coronavirus pandemic that has been unleashed upon the world, courtesy its own misadventures.
