Having heavily compromised India’s fight against the dreaded novel Coronavirus, members of the Tablighi Jamaat have been giving authorities a tough time, in complete contrast to their own claims of being reformed and good ‘Muslims’. Their sympathizers, meanwhile, are going the extra mile and even killing people for criticizing the Wahhabi organization’s callous behaviour.
An article published here previously also described how ‘Corona Jihad’ was being waged against India, and how the nation is faced with a two-frontal fight at the moment. Extreme fundamentalism, hatred for the kaafirs and a sense of cultural/religious supremacy and immunity, if let go unchecked, are sure to derail India’s fight against COVID-19 further.
A specimen of deep-seated fundamentalism was displayed in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where a resident was shot dead in front of a tea shop for doing so much as to criticize the Tablighi Jamaat for the mess they have put the nation in. Lautan Nishad, a Dalit, was criticising Tablighi Jamaat and this soon escalated into a severe altercation with a Jamaat sympathizer, Mohammad Sona, who did not waste a single wakeful moment, shooting the man dead. Locals in the area caught hold of the accused and handed him over to the police. The man has been arrested.
Needless to say, mainstream media, and the usually ever-outraged liberal crowd has maintained a stony silence on the killing of an innocent man, since they don’t have half the spine it takes to question Islamic fundamentalism.
In Saharanpur, meanwhile, the Jamaati’s demanded non-vegetarian food items from the authorities. Having not received ‘dishes’ of their liking, they threw food around the isolation ward, and also defecated openly in their ward, which has been set up in the Jain Inter College. Despite their animalistic behaviour, for some strange reason, authorities only ‘warned’ these patients.
Similarly, in Bijnor, the Jamaati’s demanded Biryani and ‘egg curry’ from the cleaners of their isolation wards. Upon being refused, the thirteen jamaati’s threw a massive tantrum and created absolute chaos in the district hospital. It must be noted that eight of these patients were Indonesian nationals, and five were from India. This really does show how fundamentalism cuts through nationalities.
Instances of Jamaati’s harassing female staff in isolation wards has been in the news for quite some time.
The female staff of the MMG Hospital, Ghaziabad were subjected to sexually predatory behaviour. The nurses, in their complaint to the Police, had alleged that the men were roaming naked around their wards, making lewd gestures at them, listening to vulgar songs and when they were given medicines, they refused to take it and misbehaved with them. They also claimed that the Jamaatis had been asking for beedi-cigarettes from the housekeeping staff and when they are told to remain away from each other, they sat together in close proximity to one another.
Despite such glaring instances of the Jamaati’s displaying their true inner inhibitions, people like Arfa Khanum Sherwani and Sadanand Dhume sided with the assaulters, saying that these were people committed to their religion who led lives of devotion. They almost seemed to be dismissive of the inhuman behaviour which the female staff had to go through.
Tablighis aren’t d most progressive people in India.Rather v orthodox &rigid.

You are right. I’m no fan of their beliefs either, but anyone who has spent any time with Tablighis knows that their conservatism extends to extreme propriety around women. Stories about their lewdness ring false. And attempts to tar Muslims in general are beyond despicable.

It is beyond doubt now that claims of the Tablighi Jamaat producing ‘good Muslims’ are nothing but hogwash. On the contrary, they come out as the worst lot that there is, assaulting women and defecating in the open. After being treated for Coronavirus, they definitely need a treatment for their sick mentality as well.
