The Kanpur Police scored a major victory as they busted the racket of ‘settling’ illegal Bangladeshi immigrants run by a group of Rohingya Muslims. Bangladesh is hosting over a million Rohingya Muslims and the country’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has publicly stated that the community presents a grave security threat for the entire region. Rohingyas have even attempted to wreak havoc in India but the security agencies have continued to bust their module. The Kanpur Police is now exploring the links of the involvement of the gang in funding the anti-CAA riots.
Kanpur Police arrested two Rohingyas named Masoom Sheikh and Alameen Sheikh who earned their bread and butter through looting people by exchanging fake US dollars. Jagran reports that Alameen confessed that his gang provides shelter to the illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. India and Bangladesh have a porous border with a riverine border on some stretches, thus making it easy for the infiltrators to cross over the border to India. After crossing over, Alameen’s gang used to swing into action as it helped the infiltrators ‘settle’ in India. The gang used to run an illegal foreign currency exchange business through which they earned lakhs of rupees which was subsequently sent to their kingpin in Mumbai. It was revealed during the interrogation that the money was used to fund anti-CAA riots across the country.
Alameen also used to help the infiltrators to cross the border over to India. After crossing over, the infiltrators were taken to Kanpur from West Bengal where they were provided refuge in slums in different localities. He also used to arrange for fake Aadhar cards, mobile phones, sim cards for the illegal Bangladeshis. As if attempting to expand his business, Alameen also trained the illegal Bangladeshis to run a fake currency exchange business and thus, provided them with US Dollars.
The Kanpur Police firmly believes that the mastermind of the entire operation sits out of Mumbai and the funds transferred to the mastermind were used to fund the anti-CAA riots. The Police has already started investigating the mastermind’s bank accounts and a team will soon be sent to arrest the mastermind. “A team will soon be sent to Mumbai to arrest the mastermind,” said the station in-charge, Ajay Seth. The arrest of the mastermind will help unmask the true face of the anti-CAA riots which was an out and out Islamist agitation as the radicals spread terror in the name of CAA.
Alameen’s gang is just one of the many gangs run by Rohingyas who’s sole aim is to spread havoc in India. Earlier this month, two Rohingyas were arrested at Kolkata Airport on Monday for obtaining fake passports. Rukhsana Aktar and Taslima were nabbed at the airport when they were attempting to flee to Bangkok through their fake Indian passports.
These events further highlight the need of the CAA and threaten to expose the nefarious agenda of the anti-CAA agitations. Despite the recent developments, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee claimed that every Bangladeshi residing in Bengal is an Indian in a desperate bid to protect her core voter base.
It is paramount that such Rohingya gangs are busted at the earliest as they pose a security threat to the entire nation.
