In an attempt to malign India while following his country’s tradition of spreading fake news, Pakistani PM Imran Khan uploaded a fake video claiming that it depicted the violence that had taken place against Muslims in Uttar Pradesh during the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. However the UP Police befittingly schooled the Pakistani leader for his stupid quest to criticise India.
Realizing that the video was fake, Imran Khan deleted the video later but not before receiving flak from several quarters including India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Syed Akbaruddin. He slammed Pakistan over its unending goof-ups; posting a short clip with a news website clipping, Akbaruddin called Pakistan “repeat offender” and said that “old habits die hard”. The clip was a reminder of Pakistan’s faux pas in 2017 when the country’s ambassador to the UN Maleeha Lodhi had showed a fake image of a “pellet gun victim” in the UN General Assembly.

Even the MEA jumped in trolling the Pak PM for his utter stupidity. “Tweet Fake News. Get Caught. Delete Tweet. Repeat,” Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted with hashtag ‘Old habits die hard’.

Imran Khan posted a seven-year-old video which showed police action against a group of people in Bangladesh. At one point in the video, a policeman could be seen holding a shield of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), proving that it had been shot in Bangladesh. Khan faced massive backlash on social media for posting the fake video. “Indian police’s pogrom against Muslims in UP,” Khan had tweeted.
Interestingly, the UP Police busted Khan’s claim saying that the video in circulation was an old one and had been shot in Bangladesh years earlier. “This is not from U.P, but from a May, 2013 incident in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) written on the vests at 0:21s, 1:27s or the Bengali spoken, or these links would help you be better informed,” tweeted UP Police.

People on Twitter trolled Imran Khan for his idiocy, noted Journalist Aditya Raj Kaul tweeted, “UP Police takes on Pakistan PM Imran Khan, exposes his lie factory. Isn’t it a sin to lie as per Quran? Just wondering.” Even the Pakistanis enjoyed mocking their PM’s foolish effort to demonize Indian police.

Notably, Imran Khan along with Pakistan Army’s fake news factory– DGISPR has been constantly trying to influence the Indians especially the minorities in order to create chaos in the country. Imran Khan is constantly spreading rumours about the RSS, BJP and Hindutva in order to make Muslims feel excluded in the country.
