In a bid to woo the Punjabi and other Hindu voters, AAP leader- Atishi has started using ‘Singh’ as her surname, a year after she had dropped Marlena {(Karl) Marx+(Vladimir) Lenin- ‘Marlena} as her surname. Atishi’s decision to use her real surname is influenced by the fact that Kalkaji has a sizeable Punjabi and Hindu population, and she comes from Punjabi Hindu community; now she is ready to compromise with non-religious Communist ideology to win the votes of Hindus of her caste.
Atishi Marlena is a ‘case study’ on how the Communists of India are willing to become caste Hindus when it comes to election.
Although, in general, they see the religious people as ignorant fools and have contempt for the people involving in religious rituals.
Karl Marx- the ideological messiah of Communists- famously said: “Religion is the opium of the people.” The Communist, Marxists, Leninists and Maoists have contempt for the religious people. The people inspired by Marx murdered millions in countries like former USSR, China and North Korea for following ancient religious practices.
Similarly, the Indian communists also built the statues of Marx and Lenin in Tripura, Kerala and West Bengal- the states they ruled for a notable period and discouraged all types of religious practices. In fact, the school textbooks taught the critique of religion and encouraged what the Marxist call ‘rational thoughts’.
But, despite the years of Communist rule, the people in these states still follow Hindu rituals and practices. The voters also strongly associated themselves from their caste and community, and therefore, as witnessed in the electoral politics of India, they are more likely to vote for the candidates from their caste or community. Therefore, the Communists, whose ultimate aim is to grab power through any means, and are top class hypocrites, become Hindus before candidacy in electoral politics.
Atishi Marlena, in the fashion of typical Hindu Communists, became a Punjabi Hindu before the 2020 assembly elections.
Notably, in a similar move before the Lok Sabha elections, AAP had asked its declared Lok Sabha candidate from East Delhi constituency- Atishi Marlena, to drop her Marlena surname. AAP had asked Atishi Marlena to remove the ‘Marlena’ surname because the party was afraid that the ‘Marlena’ surname could be construed as a Christian surname. She had been asked to drop the surname from her Twitter handle and the publicity materials.
There are many examples of how the irreligious people, sometimes typical Communist who hate the religions and religious people turn to practise Hindu before the elections. Many JNUSU presidents, who won the post on the ticket of student bodies of Communist parties in the university, turned to practice Hindu or practising Muslim after they contested on Congress ticket.
Many of these student union presidents like D P Tripathi dumped Left parties and joined Congress, given the chances of winning on a left party is near zero in the majority of Indian states. Rahul Gandhi, for whom religion is a private affair, goes on Temple run before elections.
The Communist parties in Kerala ruled the state for many years, but despite their all ‘scared’ efforts, they had not been able to turn people anti-religious so far. And finally, they gave up and turned to practise Hindu before elections. After the loss in the 2019 general election, the party even changed stance on Sabarimala issue, and many Communist leaders supported the faith of the devotees.
Leaders like Atishi Marlena will make every effort to turn people irreligious, and even brainwash school kids to not follow any religion if they are elected to power, but, few months before the election, they will turn practising Hindu, and associate with their caste. And people like her do immense damage to Hinduism and its fundamental structure.
