Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury communalises Davinder Singh’s arrest; comes to the rescue of Pakistan

Over the last few years, we have witnessed several moments where the grand old party has chosen to align with the narrative pushed by Pakistan in order to corner the Modi government and make political gains. And the party is at again, even as the Leader of Congress party in Loksabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has the again made remarks which are clearly averse to India’s interests.

Communalising the arrest of Jammu & Kashmir police DSP, Chowdhury asked what would have happened if the arrested police officer, Davinder Singh were to be a Muslim. He tweeted, “Had #DavindarSingh by default been Davindar Khan, the reaction of troll regiment of RSS would have been more strident and vociferous. Enemies of our country ought to be condemned irrespective of Colour, Creed, and Religion.”

Chowdhury did not stop here and posted another obnoxious tweet, stating, “Now question will certainly be arisen as to who were the real culprits behind the gruesome Pulwama incident, need a fresh look on it.” Pakistan had faced outrage across the world after the Pulwama attack. It is an accepted fact that the Pakistan-sponsored Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) had orchestrated the attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama. Pakistan was the real culprit of the Pulwama attack.

However, the Congress does not want to accept the simple fact, because it cannot tolerate how Pakistan has come under fire over the recent past. Congress wants to pursue the narrative that Pakistan because the Sonia Gandhi-led party feels that a pro-Pakistan narrative will help it in making electoral gains.

Now question will certainly be arisen as to who were the real culprits behind the gruesome Pulwama incident, need a fresh look on it.

Meanwhile, the BJP had mounted an assault on the Congress over Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s outrageous remarks. Hitting out at Chowdhury over blatant communalisation of the sensitive issue, former Army chief and the Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, VK Singh asked, “If Adhir Ranjan was Adhir Khan, would his statement have been taken more seriously? What have we come down to? How can we give this a communal colour?”

VK Singh also reacted strongly to Chowdhury’s demand for a fresh probe into the Pulwama attack, and said, “Real culprits of Pulwama? What are Adhir’s doubts? Who are the culprits? Are they Indians, or some other community? All I can say he should rest for some time.”

The strong affection between the Congress and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is for everyone to see. And this has not been lost on the BJP either. BJP spokesperson, Sambit Patra said, “Congress has done exactly what it is capable of — to attack India and save Pakistan.”

Tearing into the Congress, he added, “Dear Congress, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, do you have any doubt who launched the terror attack on Pulwama? I challenge you to come on camera and express that you don’t trust Indian Army and Indian Intelligence agencies.”

The BJP also brought to light Chowdhury’s faux pas after Article 370 abrogation, when the Congress MP had, on the floor of the lower house of Parliament, cast a shadow of doubt over the claim of Kashmir being India’s internal matter.

Patra also went on to make an obvious inference and said, “Kuchh to gadbad hai. Kuchh to connection Pakistan ke sath hai (There’s something is wrong. There’s some connection with Pakistan).” What Patra has said is a sentiment which is echoing in the mind of every Indian citizen after Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s obnoxious and outrageous remarks.

Chowdhury’s remarks have not only left the BJP, but the entire nation in a state of disbelief. It is simply shocking that the Congress which claims to be a national party has almost officially endorsed Pakistan’s propaganda.

The blatant communalisation of the matter by Chowdhury and an attempt to give a clean chit to Pakistan makes it highly probable that there is some connection between the Congress and Pakistan. The emphatic manner in which the Congress has time and again come out absolving Pakistan cannot be a mere ploy to make electoral gains. Congress’ affection for Pakistan clearly goes beyond political expediency and electoral equations.
