This year has been perhaps the worst year for the Communists. Right from Narendra Modi returning with an even bigger mandate which also saw Giriraj Singh defeating their poster boy Kanhaiya Kumar by over 4.20 Lakh votes in Begusarai. Then came the abrogation of Article 370 which caused much heartburn among the Communists which was closely followed by the historic Ram Janmabhoomi verdict. The paranoia among the Communists had reached unprecedented levels and as if to rub salts into the wounds, the government brought the Citizenship Amendment Act thus sending the Communists into complete hysteria. The hysteria has unmasked the true identities of the Communists. Shehla Rashid has just dropped all pretence and has openly come out as an Islamist.
Shehla Rashid took to Twitter to defend Muslim identity politics and reduce the issue of CAA to a Hindu-Muslim issue.

She attempted to defend the chants of ‘La ilaha ilallah’ which reverberated from the anti-CAA protests. Eminent liberals like Shashi Tharoor and Devdutt Pattnaik sought to dissociate themselves from the chant which essentially means there is no god but Allah. The Islamic affirmation rejects ‘false gods’ which include the nation-state, Hindu, Parsi and Buddhist gods, thereby, rejecting allegiance to the Indian Constitution.

Shehla’s Twitter thread essentially reduces the anti-CAA protests to an Islamist agitation as she has removed the mask of the idea of India from the protests. While some millennials and liberals thought they were a part of some revolution, turns out they were fooled to support an Islamist agitation.

Shehla herself claims that she became aware of her Muslim identity after Prime Minister Modi rose to power in 2014. Shehla’s sudden love for Muslim identity politics exposes her hypocrisy. In an interview with the communist propaganda portal The Wire in 2016, she claimed: “I personally don’t believe in identity politics. As you can see, I do Left politics and not identity politics.”
It seems that the carefully crafted PR campaign for Shehla is unravelling as she shows her true colours. After her thread on identity politics, many liberals distanced themselves from Shehla’s ideology and now Shehla is crying on Twitter why everyone only misspells/mispronounce only Muslim names and not a name like Kshitij or Mriganka. Shehla’s mask is unravelling at an unprecedented pace.

Shehla’s JNU colleague Umar Khalid earlier this year shed his mask as an atheist and took to Twitter to explain Prophet Muhammad’s compassion. While Shehla has never expressed that she is an atheist, Khalid on multiple occasions had expressed that he is an atheist. Both the JNU products are followers of Karl Marx with the latter claiming that religion was the opium of the masses was against fatalism. There is remarkable consistency among the JNU products and Shehla’s sudden love for Muslim identity politics only unmasks her true intentions.
