The Shiv Sena is in complete disarray as after abandoning both its natural ally and its ideology, the party is at a crossroads with nowhere to go. The party is now seeking solace from the likes of NCP and Congress, the same parties which the Shiv Sena vociferously fought against since the last couple of decades. Needless to say, Sanjay Raut has had a major role to play for the precarious situation the Shiv Sena finds itself in. His constant tirades and Shayaris have managed to entire an entire state and Raut has nothing but routed the Shiv Sena and it would only be fitting if Raut writes the obituary of Shiv Sena in Saamana.
Sanjay Raut instilled a false sense of bravado into the Sena and also managed to hoodwink Uddhav that things are going according to the plan. Raut’s crass statements only hurt the Sena as the BJP became more determined to form the government and not let people like Raut have their way in Maharashtra politics. His statements effectively burned all the bridges with the BJP as his statements like ‘The Sena would not ally with the BJP even if they offered Bhagwan Indra’s throne’ took the Sena to a point of no return.
Raut is a part of the inner circle of Uddhav Thackeray who gained his wings post the demise of Balasaheb Thackeray. After Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s demise, Sanjay Raut, who is also the editor of Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, had famously questioned whether Atal Ji’s death was announced late so that PM Modi could deliver his speech on 15th August without any disruption. He asked this question in an article in Marathi titled: “What is Swarajya?”. Sanjay Raut wrote, “Rather than our people, our rulers should first understand what is ‘swarajya’ (self-rule). Vajpayee died on 16 August, but from 12-13 August, his condition was deteriorating. To avoid national mourning and lowering of flag to half-mast on Independence Day, and also (because) Prime Minister Narendra Modi was to make his elaborate speech from the Red Fort, Vajpayee left this world on 16 August (or his death was announced).”
Such terrible statements are a proof of how Raut is simply a terrible and a deplorable human being who doesn’t have an iota of political acumen. Even post the breaking of the Mahayuti, Amit Shah showed statesmanship by refusing to divulge the details of why the alliance broke as a sign of respect to the Shiv Sena. While the camera hungry Raut jumped at the opportunity of screen space by invoking Balasaheb Thackeray as he claimed that: “It was Balasaheb’s (Thackeray) room, where Uddhav and Amit Shah decided. It is a temple for us and talks were held in that temple. If they say they never discussed such things (50:50 formula), it is an insult to Balasaheb. We swear on him and if they had said anything else, they should better disclose it. We can never forget whatever was discussed in that temple.” Raut took his bitter attack a step further and alleged that the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah never disclosed the 50:50 formula deal to PM Modi. He said, “We respect Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, what happened in the meeting between Amit Shah and Uddhav Thackeray, it’s information was not given to him.”
Sanjay Raut was an absolute bad advisor. His wits did no good to the party. If Shiv Sena hasn’t been walking on the footsteps of Sanjay Raut, things would have been different with Sena absolutely getting what it deserved. It’s the BJP that had the last laugh because of Raut’s foolishness. The know-all Sanjay Raut proved himself to be the biggest nincompoop of all time. He initiated the rout of Shiv Sena and planted the seed of division in the BJP-SS alliance and the result is all out to see.
Raut in the aftermath of Fadnavis being sworn in as the CM tweeted ‘Paap ke Saudagar!’. Raut felt there was no ‘Paap’ in allying with the very parties who tried to destroy Shiv Sena. He’s was a terrible adviser who needed to be dumped by the Shiv Sena at the earliest. Raut is so incompetent that he thinks that Sharad Pawar was totally unaware of the rumblings inside the NCP as he squarely places the blame on Ajit Pawar. While Congress refused to be a part of the joint press conference of NCP and Shiv Sena, Raut has led the senior leaders of the party including Uddhav to be a part of the press conference as Shiv Sena is hurtling towards an unchartered territory and with Raut at the wheel, Shiv Sena is all set to be Routed.
