The recent Pride March which took place in Delhi is a testament of how the communists can fall to any level to further their agenda. Pride March is supposed to be about stronger gay rights in the country post the decriminalisation of gay sex last year, but unfortunately, the march turned into an anti-Hindu, anti-India propaganda rally.
The rally which was supposed to be for the rights of LGBTQ people, was hijacked by a ‘JNUesque’ lot of propagandists, and turned into a rally for Kashmir’s independence. There were slogans like ‘Kashmir maange, azadi…tum police bulao, tum goli chalao, lathi maaro, tum goli chalao… azadi’ which are reminiscent of the JNU protests. Placards which read ‘Bharat Mata wants a girlfriend’ were also spotted at the Delhi Queer Pride parade.

Of course, the rally wouldn’t have been complete without anti-Modi slogans and offensive slogans were raised against Prime Minister Modi. Even though it was under the Narendra Modi government’s tenure where Section 377 was repealed, PM Modi was made the enemy of love at the rally. The rainbow logo of the LGTBQ+ community signifies the community’s inclusiveness but saffron was projected as the colour of hate because of its association with the BJP. It seems that it is only ironic that Section 377 was repealed during the tenure of the NDA government.

The Central government’s move to not oppose the repealing of Section 377 was much-appreciated and the RSS showcased its forward-thinking skills by changing its earlier stance of opposing the rights of LGTBQ+ community. While the Pride rally rally saw some of the participants reserve their choicest hatred for the BJP it is important to note that in 2011, then-health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had denounced homosexuality as a disease, and the government went into the case opposing decriminalisation in the initial hearings.
The status quo didn’t change till 2014, when the new health minister, the BJP’s Harsh Vardhan, expressed support for gay rights. Moreover, the legal tack of the LGBT community changed, with Section 377 now being read as catch-all legislation.
The historic verdict of repealing of Section 377 caused much heartburn in some Christian and Muslim groups as they protested against the verdict. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) used its official Twitter account to protest against the decision of the apex court and deemed the legalization of homosexuality as “immoral” and “against Indian valued and culture”. Three Christian groups namely, The Apostolic Alliance of Churches, Utkal Christian Council and Trust God Ministries opposed the judgement to strip Section 377 of its legal validity. The Christian groups protesting against the judgement tried to justify their challenge by stating that any change to Section 377 should be carried out with Parliamentary backing and the SC was not competent to add or delete any words present in the statute. The religious group claimed that there shall be an increase in the cases of sexually transmitted diseases like HIV/AIDS.
Tthe Pride rally was targeted at one religion, and one political party- hijacked by the vilest of leftists, while many chose to stick their political opinions down others’ throats under the garb of the gay parade. With such a rally it appears that people from the LGBT community cannot have a diversity of opinions, as their ‘community leaders’ would not approve of it.

What was supposed to be a celebration of India’s vivid diversity, was reduced to a political rally of unreasonable people, embarrassingly. It is disgusting to see the movement get mired in political controversy, contaminated by the hate and idiocy of leftist, anti-India, anti-Hindu propagandists. It does a huge disservice to the cause of the LGBT people who risk being perceived as a homogeneous cult of lunatics.
