As leaders from around the world congregated in New York for the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly, several issues from climate change to global economic progress were surely on the main agenda for countries around the world.
However, for several rogue elements, this session was just another forum to make a mockery out of global values of cooperation and coordination.
Leading the charade was none other than Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan who despite repeated failures over the past few weeks again tried to churn dissension around legislative developments in the Indian region of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
However for Pakistani establishment, this was just a link in the long chain of desperate attempts to soothe their unhealthy obsession with India, ultimately pushing the Islamic nation from being a democracy to now just being reduced to a covert military dictatorship with a series of open dictatorships in between since its Independence.
Nonetheless, for Pakistan another embarrassment awaited with Imran Khan, now being commonly referred as ‘Im the dim’ in social media circles, taking the lead as the new ‘elected’ leader of the rogue nation.
In his speech at the UNGA other than making outlandish threats of nuclear suicide and justifying terrorist attacks by jihadi radicals, Imran Khan also blamed the world community for overlooking the matter because of prospects in India’s booming market of 1.2 billion strong people.
“The world has done nothing (on the Kashmir issue) because India has a huge market(of) 1.2 Billion people. Sadly, the material prevails over humans.” Imran Khan said during his address at the UNGA session in New York on Friday.
Moreover for Pakistan which itself under the influence of China’s economic might has turned a blind eye to concentration camps operating in China where lakhs of ethnic Muslims are being detained, these comments not only show lack of requisite introspection on the part of Pakistani establishment but also again expose the blatant hypocrisy which has been a part and parcel of Pakistan’s discourse for long.
Pakistan’s continuous attempts to secure economic help from the same global community which Imran Khan blames to be choosing ‘material over humans’ only points towards Pakistan’s nefarious agenda at the global forum.
While Pakistan continues to remain under continuous firm pressure from the International community which includes nations like India, United States, France and others, Pakistan has also been facing the heat from international organizations like the FATF and IMF, and now failing to garner any countable international response despite the vile anti-India rhetoric is a clear indication of Pakistan’s diplomatic standing in the international community.
Recently the International Monetary fund had also approved a $6 billion bailout package for the rogue nation which is struggling to even meet its regular financial requirements. This is the 13th IMF bailout for Pakistan, with the Fund trying to correct the ‘structural balances’ in the country.
Now considering Imran Khan’s comments trying to corner the global community, him running back to the same community to for financial help will surely not be surprising, moreover, these comments in themselves might entail Pakistan’s plan for the same. Nonetheless, Imran Khan’s speech though of negligible international significance will surely be remembered as one of the worst desecration of international spirit which the global forum has witnessed.
