The episode had premiered on August 12 on Discovery Channel. Later on, the episode also aired on Doordarshan, India’s state run television channel. Delbert Shoopman, Episode/ Content creator of RunningWild on NatGeo & YouVsWild on Netflix, broke this news about the said episode becoming the most trending show worldwide. Later on, Bear Grylls, the popular host of the wildlife adventure show, Man vs Wild also tweeted about the episode featuring PM Modi becoming the most trending worldwide show. Grylls said, “#PMModiOnDiscovery world’s most trending televised event!”

The Man vs Wild episode has clearly become a major sensation across the world. The fact that the episode has recorded 3.6 billion impression shows that the episode featuring PM Modi turned out to be quite popular even outside India. As per recent World Bank data, the world population is more than 7.53 billion. Therefore, the episode featuring PM Modi attracted a little less than half of the total world population. This shows that PM Modi is no longer confined to India when it comes to popularity. Having emerged as a popular leader across the globe, people outside India also follow him.
It must be noted that there was brimming enthusiasm for the episode, when it was first announced that PM Modi would feature on the adventure show. This was disclosed by the show’s host, Bear Grylls himself. The video also shows PM Modi welcoming Grylls and then venturing into the interiors of India along with him.
