In a scathing criticism of Communist government and the ‘intolerance gang’, suspended Kerala DGP Jacob Thomas stated that “If our minds have reached a state where we cannot hail Ram, then we must think if we have become evil.”
he further added, “Time has come for us to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’ with more might.” Jacob Thomas has been suspended earlier by the Kerala communist government.

Exposing the witch hunting tactics of the Pinarayi Vijayan led LDF government in Kerala, the Central Administrative Tribunal has ordered the immediate reinstatement of Suspended IPS officer Jacob Thomas to a post equivalent of his rank and pointed out that continuous suspension of the IPS officer was not appropriate. The Tribunal also accepted that he was targeted by the state government.
According to a report in My Nation, Jacob Thomas was first suspended for making a speech against Corruption on International Anti-Corruption Day. Former Kerala DGP had also criticized the law and order situation in the state in the aftermath of Cyclone Ockhi in which about 33,000 people from Kerala and another 2,800 from Tamil Nadu were affected. In December of 2017, he was then again suspended for writing two books in Malayalam, an autobiography and one on capacity building in governance in March 2018. He was also banned from travelling abroad and was not permitted to visit his daughter who lives in Muscat.
Jacab Thomas came in the crosshairs of the LDF government when he had accused EP Jayarajan one of the close aides of CM Pinarayi Vijayan, of nepotism and filed a case against him. Following this, the state government had dismissed Thomas from the post of VACB director.
“I have been fighting against corruption for a very long time now. I have been taking action and fighting back against corruption since 2003, when I was the Joint Transport Commissioner. In 2017, following the Ockhi cyclone, I was suspended for raising a concern about fisherfolk and other affected communities not receiving timely aid. I was also suspended for the two books I had written which were published by DC and Current Books…it’s been a flood of suspensions,” he told Asianet News
Coming out in support of the order the IPS officer lauded the judiciary and called on fellow officers to come out and raise voice against corruption. While speaking at a public event in Thrissur also commented on the larger prevailing issues around religious slogan ‘Jai Shree Ram’ which communist parties have been known to be contemptuous against. He had said “Did we reach a situation where we can’t hail Lord Ram? If our minds have reached a state where we cannot hail Ram, then we must think if we have become evil. Time has come for us to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’ with more might” reported ANI.
Nonetheless this case of witch hunting is surely not the first by Pinarayi Vijayan led Communist government, Earlier a reply document uploaded on the website of Kerala legislative assembly had shown that LDF government had registered cases against 12 state government/semi-governmental employees and one central government employee. A total of 119 cases have been slapped on people for posting objectionable content against Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan .Out of the total 119 cases, 106 cases were filed against people who were not government employees.
Despite a high number of vendetta driven cases in communist ruled Kerala the left-liberal gang has also stayed away from their trademark candle marches and other antics while at the same time cried foul over similar legal proceedings in other states. This recent decision in favor of the IPS officer is surely just a drop in the ocean of frivolous cases filed against critics in the communist ruled states. Nonetheless expecting any reaction from left liberal gang is futile as they have not even spared heinous crimes against minors, and marred them with this agenda driven approach where the identities of the victims and perpetrators are used to decide it whether they deserve justice or not. Nonetheless this decision by the Central Administrative Tribunal has surely exposed the communist government in Kerala.
