India’s golden journey in the ICC World Cup 2019 was cut short when they conceded defeat to New Zealand by 18 runs. Despite the gallant knocks of Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni, India was unable to achieve a relatively simple target of 240, and the Indians had to once again return empty-handed.
Millions of Indian fans are either disappointed by the lacklustre performance of the top order, or by the wrong umpiring done against MS Dhoni. However, things took a turn for the worse, when news channel ABP News tweeted the following poll –
Who is responsible for Team India's WC semi-final loss against New Zealand?#INDvsNZ
— ABP News (@ABPNews) July 10, 2019
It goes without saying that millions of Indian followers were extremely upset by the outcome. However, cricket being a sport, one can’t rule out the cycle of wins and losses. However, what ABP news has done is not only worthy of extreme criticism but also atrocious, to say the least. Instead of analyzing the highs and lows of the team’s performance in the semifinal, ABP News began demonizing the top batsmen for their bad performances. ABP News has further lowered the standard of Indian journalism with this pathetic act.
Needless to say, people got infuriated and vented out their ire on ABP News for this ridiculous poll. Led by cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle, and supported by ex-cricketer and member of the U19 World Cup 2008 winning Indian team, Shreevats Goswami, the Indian netizens expressed their dissatisfaction against the ABP news for this absurd and ridiculous poll –
Don't. Please.

Must be really proud of yours journalism eh ?? #shame

Get lost, whole #TeamIndia played brilliant cricket, #Kohli #rohit #Dhoni don't differentiate between them and start hatred
Stop blaming any one, blame your self #DalalMedia #indiavsNewzealand #INDvNZ #NZvIND #SemiFinal1 #CWC19 #CWC2019 #ICCWorldCup2019 #Jadeja #Shami— Farrookh🛡️ (@farrookh) July 10, 2019

However, this is not the first occasion that the ABP News raised serious doubts on the prestige of journalism with their decisions. Only a couple of months ago, when PM Modi lambasted the journalists for refusing to question the Nehru Gandhi dynasty with the same alacrity as he is subjected to, ABP censored that portion altogether, to which the masses reacted sharply.
Flash – @ArvindKejriwal to be CM candidate for #Punjabpolls: Delhi Deputy CM @msisodia https://t.co/diwoQM3GH1 pic.twitter.com/SxIH4EBNrl
— ABP News (@ABPNews) January 10, 2017
This is not all, ABP had the gall to declare Kejriwal as the CM candidate for Punjab, by deliberately twisting the statement of Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia. Now with the current poll, ABP has further lowered their own standards, for which no criticism would be enough.
