The gruesome murder of a 3 year old girl from Aligarh has pushed the nation into a state of shock and anger. Zahid, the main accused in the case is believed to have had an argument with the victim’s grandfather and uncle over a loan. Reportedly, the accused lived in victim’s neighborhood. However, it is still unclear whether he had kidnapped the victim and hid her in his home before murdering her. Body of the three year old was found not far from her house, in a horrific semi-decomposed state.
Not surprisingly the mainstream media staying with its stance has decided to conveniently underplay this heinous crime as the identity of the accused does not fit well with their political agenda. Mainstream media has been called out time and time again for blatantly whitewashing or totally eliminating the reportage of crimes committed by a ‘certain community’ in India. However, after continuous backlash from online community, members of the left-liberal gang have given in and are coming out with their version of concerns on the Aligarh case, however their hollow concerns have been out rightly rejected on many forums.
Joining this left-liberal hypocrisy is NDTV journalist Ravish Kumar who, after a long silence on the heinous murder in Aligarh for more than a week, has finally come out in another attempt to demonize the Hindu community and act as an apologist for the perpetrators in the garb of journalism. Ravish Kumar executes this shoddy attempt to save face in his blog which goes by the name ‘Nai Sadak’. Not surprisingly the blog is a striking example of sheer ignorance only displaying subjective biases without any objective backing. Not even mentioning the incident on his frenzied FB timeline for over a week, Ravish offered the excuse of bad internet.
Ravish Kumar in the same blog says about the Dadri incident “Murder of Dadri’s Akhlaq was not a criminal incident. There was communal hatred at the base of this incident and many people were standing with that communal hatred.” This is another example of the left liberals conveniently choosing to include or exclude the communal angle in criminal incidents. While Murder of Akhlaq remains a communal incident in eyes of left Liberals, murder of a 3 year old and many other hate driven crimes committed by the minority community remain just law and order issues.
Instead of condemning the horrible incident, Ravish Kumar starts the blog by drawing an absurd analogy involving Anupam Kher; More or less the blog is full of whataboutery and was reeking with meek claims of victimhood. The article is less concerned with the murder victim but more about how people are ‘inflaming communal tension’ by voicing support for the victim. Ravish Kumar, in his characteristic style, terms everybody as a ‘hypocrite’ or hatemonger.
Ravish Kumar was prompt in defaming the Hindu community during the Kathua rape case. He carried extensive anti-Hindu propaganda based on facts which were later found to be erroneous or misleading with regard to Kathua case.
This distressing journalism might be surprising to many however for those who have followed Ravish Kumar for long are not surprised by Ravish Kumar’s astounding efforts to show his holier than thou attitude even while condemning a heinous crime against 3 year old. The conduct of many left-liberal like Ravish Kumar is surely a hangover from previous regimes in India which have left no stone unturned to whitewash or omit anything from history, records or others for the sake of misguided secularism. As a part of their vote bank politics, various political parties and left-liberals under their patronage have made every attempt to put the Hindu Community in a bad light and at the same time turn a blind eye to all the crimes committed by other minority community. Nonetheless, India does not need the hypocrisy of left-liberals to fight against ghastly crimes irrespective of the identity of the perpetrators and this horrific act surely calls for the harshest of punishments.
