Ranvir Shorey slams Rahul Gandhi for his tweet aimed at Indian Army and its elite dog squad

Recently, Congress President Rahul Gandhi got himself involved in yet another controversy when he posted an insensitive tweet about the Indian Army and its dog unit performing yoga on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga and captioned it “New India”.

To say the tweet hasn’t gone down well with the people would be an understatement. Across the entire social media spectrum, Rahul Gandhi is being trolled for the tweet with people genuinely wondering who even controls his social media account. Now, Ranvir Shorey has come out utterly disgusted with the tweet and has given a fitting response to the Gandhi scion.

In a series of tweets, Ranvir Shorey has told Rahul Gandhi exactly what he thinks of his insensitive tweet. Not only has he asked Rahul Gandhi to quit politics but has stated that “New India” will only be realised once he and his family quit politics. Thereafter, he also gave a befitting reply to the handful of supports the Gandhi family has left. He said, “The joke is that the Congress party is reduced to clowns like you who worship one dynasty!” and also added, “I don’t need a Congress troll to worry about my career either. Collect your 2 Rs per tweet while you can.”

This is not the first time the actor has taken a dig at the Congress party. Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, he had released a video in which he had appealed with the people to exercise their franchise judiciously. In the video, he had said, “Have the current problems in our country appeared only during the last 5 years? Was our country on the right track before 2014? Did we not have any riots in the country before these 5 years? Weren’t the poor butchered or killed in the name of religion before as well? Weren’t unemployment and hunger key problems then? It is right to hold a 5-year-old government responsible for all these problems? 5 years are not enough to solve all the problems of such a large country.” Furthermore, he added, “Those who couldn’t fix the problems in 60 years are now talking about NYAY. Is it fair that a single family rules over the country generation after generation? Those who live in Palaces, whose family has been ruling the country for decades cannot understand the growing resentment among the common people.”

The current tweet of Rahul Gandhi has not only insulted the nation and the army but has also insulted the elite dog squad of the armed forces. The exercise was an extremely laudable gesture on the part of the BSF and the Indian Army, as people often tend to overlook the contribution of the dog units towards the nation. These dog units often risk their lives during operations that include patrolling and explosives detection. However, Rahul Gandhi couldn’t help but immerse himself in petty politics. By pointing out to this insensitivity, people like Ranvir Shorey are the making sure that Rahul Gandhi does not blatantly get away with insults to the mother nation, just because he has the “Gandhi” tag attached to his name.
