Yesterday, the wreckage of the missing AN-32 was finally spotted after an extensive search launched by the IAF. IAF informed about the development from its official Twitter handle, “The wreckage of the missing #An32 was spotted today 16 Kms North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12000 ft by the #IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in the expanded search zone.” It also stated, “Efforts are now continuing to establish the status of occupants & establish survivors. Further details will be communicated as the recovery actions progress.”

While the entire nation is praying for the safety of the occupants of the crashed AN-32 and hoping that the IAF brings some good news establishing survivors, convicted Congress leader, Hardik Patel posted a disgusting tweet addressing PM Modi and mocking the AN-32 occupants as well as the defence forces of India.

In a crass tweet intended to be sarcastic, the Congress leader claimed that the AN-32 and the lost occupants were in the custody of China and that the Modi government should ask for their return.

He also called for a ‘Surgical Strike’ against China in an attempt to take a dig at Prime Minister Modi. Hardik Patel brought in the China angle while the IAF has reportedly spotted the debris of the missing aircraft in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Hardik Patel couldn’t control the urge of taking a dig at PM Modi over such a sensitive issue. However, he seemed oblivious to the national sentiment and the distress the families of the missing IAF personnel are passing through. He did not say a word about the missing personnel. What he did was mock them in order to score cheap political points. This is rather disgusting and crass even by the miserably low standards that the grand old party has set for itself in the recent past. It is important to mention here that apart from being convicted in a riot case, Hardik Patel is also facing a sedition case. A case of insulting the National Flag was also filed against him, but withdrawn later on.

It must also be kept in mind that while Hardik Patel clearly does not have any idea about the intricacies of international relations, China claims the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh to be a part of its own territory. However, in the desperation emanating from political extinction, the Congress and its leaders no longer seem to care about how their irresponsible statements could potentially affect India’s interests. They made highly irresponsible statements when things were escalating between India and Pakistan. And it seems they are not going to make any changes even after being humbled by the electorate during the Lok Sabha polls this year.
