Plagued by deteriorating law and order situation coupled with the strong-arm rule of Mamata Banerjee led TMC, people of West Bengal have been the biggest victims. With a huge electoral wave against the TMC, Mamata supported by the deep syndicate has been busy intimidating voters and indulging in malpractices influencing the voters. Blatant minority appeasement that has formed a major part of TMC’s campaign for the general election has further intensified and transcended into sheer disrespect for other communities. In an incident pointing towards the same, 3 individuals were detained in West Bengal for chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ as Mamata Banerjee was passing with her convoy. A video of the event has surfaced which shows Mamata Banerjee stopping her convoy and confronting a few individuals who were chanting Jai Shree Ram as she was moving from one political event in Kharagpur to another.

Bengal has been witnessing desperate attempts by the TMC to save political ground from the BJP, which is poised to make huge political gains in the green field state. The last Panchayat elections in West Bengal saw new a found support for the BJP, which has created a momentum that is sure to be carried forward in the 2019 general elections and hurt TMC’s electoral plans.
West Bengal has been facing the worst law and order situation in India, under the rule of Mamata Banerjee. Incidents of crimes which have been peaking at an alarming rate coupled with the strong arm politics of the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal has created a fearful situation for the people of the state. The state government instead of focusing on critical issues has been trying to suppress political dissent by the usage of strong-arm tactics like these.
Mamata Banerjee was also called out when she had alleged conspiracy by the union government behind the cowardly Pulwama terror attack. In a press conference at Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee posed the following questions, “I have doubts and wonder how the Pulwama attack happened right before the elections. Why were actions not initiated earlier to prevent this?”
The government had inputs from intelligence agencies on February 8 about the possibility of an attack prior to the polls. Why was no action taken? Why were 78 convoys allowed to move together?” Mamata further added, “We have got reports that some RSS pracharaks are roaming the streets at night, holding the national flag to create trouble. We do not support this kind of activities in the name of nationalism. We urge the people to not fall prey to such activities.”
This incident only points towards the anti-Hindu mindset that has been lurking in the minds of top leaders of several opposition parties, and the silence of the ‘liberal’ media only supports this blatant misuse of power.
