Election Commission has issued a notice to Congress President Rahul Gandhi for allegedly violating the model Code of Conduct during his speech in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. Gandhi on April 23rd had claimed at a rally in Madhya Pradesh that the Narendra Modi led NDA government has made a new law that allows officers to shoot the adivasis residing in the forest areas.
Rahul Gandhi said, “Narendra Modi has made a new law that allows police to shoot at tribals. The law says that tribals can be attacked. They take away your lands, take away your forests, they take away your water, and then they say tribals can be shot at,” The misinformation spread by the Congress president was regarding the amendment that the Modi government has brought in the Forest Act of 2006.
The law does not give anyone a right to ‘shoot’ at the tribals, but it rather gives the officers the right to look into the land which is encroached illegally. Congress supremo, low in intellect and incorrect with his facts, tried to defame the Modi government.
Rahul Gandhi, who is known for manipulating statements, has been issued a notice by the EC to respond within 48 hrs. If Rahul Gandhi fails to respond to the EC, the decisions will be taken by the Election Commission without any ‘further reference to him’. The notice was served to him by a special messenger.
After Rahul Gandhi locked horns with the Supreme Court, he has now invited trouble for himself from the Election Commission. The notice came hours after the poll panel gave clean chit to Modi for his speech in Latur last month in which he had urged first-time voters to dedicate their votes in the name of the Balakot air strike heroes and the soldiers who martyred in February’s Pulwama attack.
The Shehzada of Congress seems to have some problem with his choice of words and the information he uses in his rallies. Congress has already been served many ultimatums by the EC for comments made by the party members. Lately, the newly joined leaders in the Congress, namely Shatrughan Sinha, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Udit Raj have made controversial and derogatory statements against important national symbols and dignitaries.
With a reckless attitude, the Congress is moving ahead in the Lok Sabha elections, without realizing its consequences. The statements made by the leaders hurt the sentiments of the majority and the Congress might have to pay for it heavily. The leaders of Congress constructs arguments on their own assumption and blatantly uses them during their campaigns to garner votes.
