In another shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh a DSP officer was shot inside his home in the presence of his daughter. Inspector General of Police (Bhopal) Jaideep Prasad said deputy superintendent of police G L Ahirwar (54) was shot dead at close range by an acquaintance named Himanshu Pratap Singh at his house at around 7.30 pm. G L Ahirwar was posted in the CID wing of the Madhya Pradesh police.

DSP GL Ahirwar’s daughter and daughter-in law were present at home when the whole incident took place. IG Jaideep Prasad added that prima facie the dispute appears to be a result of a personal dispute. DSP GL Ahirwar had just undergone a bypass surgery around a month ago and was on leave for the same.
The alleged shooter, Himanshu Pratap Singh, a resident of Nehru Nagar police lines, was earlier arrested by Hanumanganj police allegedly for posing as a CID officer to extort truck drivers. Himanshu’s Mother is currently posted as head constable in cyber cell. “We are trying to get the details of the dispute and establish the chain of events, but Ahirwar’s daughter is still in a state of shock, “ Prasad said. Himanshu was arrested late night from Vidisha.
This horrendous incident raises questions on the law and order situation in Madhya Pradesh. Over the past few months Madhya Pradesh has been witnessing a deteriorating law and order situation in the State.

A kidnapping case of 5 years old twin Brothers form the town of Chitrakoot who were found dead and many other similar cases have exposed the deteriorating situation of Law and order in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Over the deteriorating state of Law and Order in Madhya Pradesh, Amit shah, President of BJP attacked the Congress government, “Recently, two children were abducted and murdered. No one (from the government) went to wipe off the tears of their parents. Earlier, if something like this happened, Mama (Shivraj Singh Chauhan) used to reach even before their parents did.”
If a DSP can be shot inside his home how safe is the general public? With the Kamal Nath government just a few months in charge, inefficiencies already seemed to have gripped the State. Decreasing patience of the people over non-delivery of promises made by the congress and the deteriorating Law and order situation will surely create difficult situations for congress in times to come.
