The 2019 general elections have been seeing new lows in political campaigning. From Congress blatantly compromising on national security to appease their vote banks to Mayawati openly striking communal chords to garner votes for her party, these elections have been seeing opposition leaders scrambling to save their political ground.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an interview given to News-18 Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi gave a befitting reply not only to Mayawati but to the whole pseudo-secular and the Award Wapsi Gang. In a small clip released prior to the complete telecast of the interview, Rahul Joshi asked the PM about his views on Mayawati openly appealing Muslims to vote for Mahagathbandhan.
Rahul Joshi said, “Mayawati has asked Muslims for their votes, she has said that vote only for the Mahagathbandhan…votes should not be divided… for which she came under the notice of Election commission also, How do you see these kinds of appeals?”
To which PM Modi gave a holistic and a befitting reply and explained the psyche behind such comments. PM Modi said, “After continuous defeats in the elections Mayawati ji is discouraged, and her making such comments is very natural, appealing the Muslims to vote specifically”. Giving another glimpse of his statesmanship PM Modi added, “This is a subject for the Election Commission to take note of.”
He further addressed the bigger issue. PM Modi called out the hypocrisy of the so-called secular parties and the Award Wapsi Gang who have said nothing but given deafening silence on this blatant religious appeal. He said, “I worry less about Mayawati ji… but I worry more about the parties who claim to be the flag bearers of secularism, why are they silent, if similar appeal was made to the Hindu Society, I don’t know how much noise they would have made, how much awards they would have returned, how many signature (campaigns) they would have run, Why is this cabal silent now?”

Narendra Modi throughout his campaign has been continually exposing the pseudo-secular and Award Wapsi Gang and questioning their prejudiced approach. He further added, “This nexus is a matter great of concern for the nation, I also ask the media to question this nexus on their selective silence and expose them, does this not affect their secularism, the biggest danger are these disguised people.”
The poll authorities have sent a report to the Election Commission regarding remarks made by BSP-supremo. Mayawati addressing a rally in Deoband had said, “I want to make an open appeal. It is not the Congress but the (SP-BSP-RLD) alliance which is fighting the BJP. The Congress wants to ensure that the alliance does not win. The Congress is trying to help the BJP in this election.”
PM Modi giving an example of his bold stance has again exposed these so-called secular parties. The parties which were swift to accuse PM Narendra Modi and the BJP of being biased have now taken the silent route. Such blatant and open call from voting on religious lines clearly indicates the desperation of opposition parties to save political ground from the BJP.
