Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a national conference for the ‘Main Bhi Chowkidar’ campaign in New Delhi. Addressing millions of Indians in the conference, PM Modi reiterated his stance on the need to respect the dignity of all jobs, and how every Indian’s contribution to nation building is essential for its development.
In this conference, PM Modi also did not mince his words in bashing Pakistan for continuously peddling terror against India. He began by taking jibes at Pakistan’s penchant for terror. To quote him, “Pakistan is in big trouble. If they say something happened in Balakot, it would mean that they have to accept that terrorist camps were being operated from there. They keep telling the world that there is nothing here. We attacked at such a place that they cannot hide.”
When asked about how the air strikes were conducted, PM Modi said, “We have been suffering from terrorism for the past 40 years. They came and carried out killings in Mumbai and Uri. We know who is responsible for this. I thought that how long all this will go? Then, I decided–Yeh Jahan Se Control Hota Hai, Khel Wahin Khela Jaayega [The game will be played at the place where this [terrorism] is controlled from]”
Then PM Modi exhorted the country to now raise their expectations and compete with the world, instead of indulging in just India Pakistan. To further quote him, “Humein duniya ki barabari karni hai. Humne bahut sara samay hamara, India-Pakistan, India- Pakistan mein kharaab kar liya, arre wo apni maut marega to usko chhod do, hum aage nikal chalen [We have to stand equal to the world. We have consumed a lot of time in India Pakistan, India Pakistan. It will die its own death, let us move forward].

With this comment, PM Modi killed two birds with one stone. Not only did he stop treating Pakistan unnecessarily, he also took a subtle jibe at the ‘Aman ki Asha’ brigade, for whom cordial relations with Pakistan at the cost of everything are absolutely necessary.
Pakistan is on the verge of complete collapse, with its currency crashing, assets depleted at an alarming rate and most of the resources going scarce at the cost of sponsoring cross border terrorism against India. As such, we should take the advice of PM Modi and broaden our horizons to competing with the rest of the world in terms of innovation, healthcare, good administration and cultural brilliance.
