Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik was arrested in the case related to terror funding of the separatist groups in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik has been arrested in the case related to terror funding of the separatist groups in Jammu and Kashmir. The JKLF chief was moved to Tihar jail on Tuesday. Yasin Malik is the chairman of JKLF which has originally been spreading armed militancy in the Kashmir valley.
The case against Yasin was registered for funding separatist and terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir by raising, receiving and collecting funds through various illegal means, including hawala transactions, and for causing disruption in the Valley by way of pelting stones on the security forces, burning schools, damaging public property and waging war against India.
The government had banned the JFLK last month. This was in regard to the cases like the kidnapping of Rubaiya Saeed, daughter of the Union Minister Mufti Mohammad in 1989 and killing of 4 IAF personnel in 1990. The banning of these groups shows that the Modi government is serious about cracking down on the separatist and terrorist groups working in the valley.
NIA also registered cases against the Hurriyat Conference. This group has been linked to the terrorist groups like Hizbul Mujahideen, Dukhtaran-e-Millat , Lashkar-e-Taliban and other outfits and gangs. The Modi government is working towards strengthening national security.
The BJP manifesto has clearly mentioned that the party will work towards establishing a peaceful atmosphere in the state of J&K. The party in the manifesto also promised the safe return of Kashmiri Pandits in the state. “We will make all efforts to ensure the safe return of Kashmiri Pandits,” said the manifesto. The manifesto also reads “We are committed to annulling Article 35A of the Constitution of India as the provision is discriminatory against non-permanent residents and women of Jammu and Kashmir. We believe that Article 35A is an obstacle in the development of the state.” This establishes the fact that the ruling Modi government is determined to solve the Kashmir issue and issues concerning Kashmiri Pandits.
Recently, a PIL was filed asking the Delhi High Court to debar Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah from fighting elections, courtesy their current statements against India. Mehbooba mocked the PIL and threatened the BJP and the country of dire consequences. These statements have been highly criticised by the BJP government.
The Modi government has initiated the removal of Article 370 to further integrate India and remove disparities. The government has taken various measures to stop the infiltration and insurgency in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister said, “India supports peace, but the country will not hesitate to take any steps required for national security.” A strong message to all those who have ill intentions to harm the country and its unity.
